Phone cams have reached such high standards, I really think we should allow pics from phone cams now. After all, lotsa ppl take brilliant photos with just the phone cams. Even got celebrity photogs who specialize in phone cams nowadays.

What do you guys think?

"Photographers" gone WILD!

This is a good example of ppl misbehaving while out with their cameras. Please have some decency and follow the rules n regulations of the locations u r at. It's just simple manners really, but I suppose in this day n age, there r very few ppl being brought up with good manners.

This happened on my recent holiday. It's an exclusive 5 Star Spa for ppl to rest, relax n recuperate. The observation deck is for paying spa customers to eat, drink n chill. NOT for "Photographers" to invade with all manner of "Pro" equipment to take stupid looking pictures. It actually looked worse than this pic coz just as I got my iPhone out to snap the pic, 2 families just got up n left. These buggers aren't even paying customers. They just simply invaded the place n treat it like a playground, making lotsa noise too. The paying customers who paid good money to chill up there had to sit inside the aircond section instead coz these buggers were making so much noise n running around. We couldn't even eat n drink in peace. There's also a big signboard downstairs saying "For adults only". These idiot's even bring little kids up. Just look at the infinity pool type of concept n even a stupid fool can understand why no kids r allowed. They can fall 3 floors down to their death!!!

I sincerely hope LYN Photography forummers don't do stuff like that.

Photographic Brain Teaser

Since past few days got many debates and discussions on technical things, here's an interesting brain teaser I thought up today.

If you take a self portrait in the mirror at large aperture, say about f1.8(since most people will have a cheap 50mm f1.8), do you think the background is gonna be bokeh or everything sharp since the mirror is flat?

Hah! Scratch your head a bit before taking out your camera and trying it out at the nearest mirror. Hehe.

Just a reminder. Those of you who know the answer or tried oredi please don't post the pics ya. Let other fellas scratch their head n try first. Midnite u all can post all ur hensem faces here.

UV Filters thread

Do you use a UV filter? I sure do as my lenses cost a bomb and I don't wanna risk damaging the front element. I also need the filter to complete the weather sealing on my lenses. I use only the very best so I don't know about the problems people face with cheap filters but I thought I'd start this thread for UV filters as it keeps popping up in all the other threads.

Quite a shocking result eh? Is it due to bad glass or is it somehow making the camera AF badly as that guy suspects? Either way, it shows that we shouldn't skimp on filters. Get a good 1 if u wanna use protection. Let's all share our experiences on filters here so others can learn from our good or bad experiences.

Maxis iPhone 3Gs 32gb

My iPhone is a Maxis set. I'm using Digi postpaid SIM. Everything works perfectly but internet is always on EDGE only. How come I cannot get 3G? Went to 2 Digi centers n they cant solve it, simply say "sry ah, the 3G network not stable so sometimes u wont see the 3G icon".

The thing is, I've never seen the 3G icon on my iPhone before. It has never appeared. Always E icon from day 1.
