TGV Station 18 Ipoh enforce 'Open personal bag for checking for outside food & drinks' like customs checking for smuggled goods. This shows the TGV food & drinks suck and cinema revenue is so bad that it has to depend on this side income for extra profit.

Tesco Shoppers - Watch Out

Went to Tesco Express in Bercham, Ipoh on 7/10/11 nite, to shop for 'Mr Muscle' - Mildew remover. Displayed price RM7.90 but checkout scanned price is RM9.90. + RM2.00 or 25% more than displayed price. Complained to the checkout counter girl who direct me to the customer counter. Customer counter officer went to check price at the counter and came back and say, the RM7.90 is for the refill.

I definately saw the price and not satisfied, went to the product counter again to check for myself and it shocks[U] me to find all the display prices on the shelf were removed. The officer no more to be seen and due to time constrain, we left grumbling to myself.

This is not the 1st time we encounter such practices, usually upon reaching home and realised we are overcharged. Such a big cooperation has to resort to 'trickerly' to make additional profits. Imagine the poor consumer(who is poor like me) being fleeced in such unfair practices.
Of course, small claim court? Not worth the effort. Call the F Manager, takes a long time.

So, it is left to us as consumers to counter these 'unethical' practices by checking the things being scanned and dont be intimidated by the very fast scan where you hardly see the numbers. We must stand up to the unfair practices of the supposedly BIG COMPANIES by claiming our rights or avoid such places.

AMBank - The Caring Bank

On 27/1/2011, try to exchange some new RM10 notes for my children's AngPow a misery RM500/-. First went to Public Bank (Canning Garden, supposedly Chinese Bank), all new notes finished. Went to Maybank Canning Garden, also finished. Well maybe the small timer like me will not be served.

To my surprise, the amBank located in the middle of both banks, has a pleasant Indian Lady Staff solely dedicated to exchange of new notes. I thought might be amBank account holders will be served, but no, it serves all who wants to exchange new notes for CNY. This is a very professional bank and will switch my small account to amBank soon.

The greatest insult is today 31/1/2011, went to Maybank Greentown and there is one chap exchanging RM10,000 new notes without problems (which incidentally reply 'finished' for RM500).

I think the small timers make up the bulk of the businesses must stand up to the 'condensating' attitude of the big boys and move their accounts to amBank, a bank that cares.

BTW, that is the first time I ever step inside an amBank.

Display resolution of external monitor

I am currently running Windows 7 on my MBP 13" and the native resolution is 1280x800. But why when I connect an External Monitor(Dell 24") via the minidisplay DVI interface, the resolution upscale to 1920x1080 and all characters and graphics work fine in the HD defination.

The question is is the graphic card of MBP controls the display resolution or the external monitor?

Just puzzled. Anyone can enlighten me please.

Crocs Prepair Clogs

I have use up 3 pairs of Crocs from the original to sporters and what comfort are the sandals. I dont wear anymore leather shoes to shops or malls and really the 'springy' 'airy' feel is something to talk about.

The latest pair under 'Prepair' name however is a REAL DISAPPOINTMENT having read about all the bullshit about 'recovery' 'pressure less' etc etc. The first few days having walking around abit it gives me the tireness or 'sour' sort of pain in the upper thigh which I have never experience in any of the shoes I bought before. The hard heel feeling, no more the 'springiness' in the heel may have contribute to the 'tireness'. Worst is today, the button keeping the shoe strap got 'lost' and the strap is unattached. Luckily, I didnt fall down steeping in it. What sort of Crocs come to these days. No doubt, there is a clause in the receipt stating return due to defects by 15 days, that is tomorrow.

So, dont buy Croc 'Prepair' Clogs. Get other types. I will still buy a pair of Crocs but disappointed with all sorts of new designs that does not live up to Crocs motto. I have intended to post it in the Crocs website but no user review there.
