Item(s) conditions: Excellent. Been using it for 2 years+ and never had an issue. One of the best 290x models produced. Vapor-X cooler is fantastic at its job, max temps for me was ~80C (stock 290x is 90C+). This model comes with 8GB VRAM making it essentially equivalent to a 390x. Performance on par with gtx 1060 6gb.

Note: This card is pretty long (30cm) as you can see in the attached photo below compared to a 1070 mini. Also, make sure you have a decent PSU with 2x8pin power connector. Recommended 650W but IMO 500W is fine.

i'm planning to get a GC after the 5000 series hit the shelf expecting that the 4000 series' price will drop slighty. Initially i was planning to get myself an XFX HD4850 but since i have to only add another RM90 to get a HD4870 which is far better in terms of performance than the HD4850.

i know that the HD 4870 requires 2*6-pin PCIE and since my PSU only has one , i'll be using the sata-PCIE converter included with the HD4870. Also i'm a bit worried that my PSU will not have enough juice for it since i plan to OC the proc to reduce the bottleneck.

according to the PSU calculator my current setup paired with a HD4870 will only consume around 350W~380W. So can anyone enlighten me pls? Should I go for the XFX HD4870(RM490) or stick with a HD4850(RM400)instead?

harlow fellow forumers,

this is my 1st time building my own rig and i'm planning 2 build a rig around da Phenom2 x3 720BE
so far i've work out these specs and nid your advices and opinions, Please!

PROC -Phenom II x3 720 BE
MOBO -???? no nid CrossfireX/SLI just a normal everyday use mobo cos i'm gonna 2 switch to a DDR3 board when they become more affordable
RAM -da standard Kingston Value RAM 2GB x 2 pieces
GC -waiting for da launch of teh so called ATI Radeon HD 4750
HDD -should i go for a 320GB or 640GB since they are only priced RM50+- apart and does brands matters?
Display -Acer x203h 20" there are many ppl that say Acer brand not good bla bla bla, how true is it? cos this LCD just fit right in my sort of tight budget
PSU -??? which PSU suit my rig the most?
Casing -Cooler Master CM690 well, i know this is quite costly but.........i cant resist
DVD -Reuse old one

suggestions for PSU and Mobo pleaseee
anything i can change to improve da overall specs?
any imbalance/bottleneck issue for my rig?

oh yar, this rig for is gaming (DotA, L4D, Crysis:Warhead, COD4) and movieeees
plus, i'm not too fussy about the graphic settings and resolution of the games as long as its playable under default settings

recently planning to build a rig with an AMD Phenom II x3 720 BE that i will be trying to get it to around 3.3Ghz by changing the multiplier only
and i cant decide which board is best paired with it so i need some opinions and advises from u all pros

my budget is around <RM500
most important is decent oc performance and preferably out-of-da-box PhenomII compatible(no nid flash BIOS)
i dont care much about the brand so feel free to shoot me with any opinions

i'm planing 2 buy a Saphire HD4850 for my new gaming rig(that i'm gonna buy sometime in April) since hearing news that its price will drop some time soon....
so i wanna ask whether the AMDx2 7750+BE proc will bottleneck Sapphire HD4850.
now... my rig specs are as follows:

AMD athlonx2 7750+BE (oc@3ghz)
ECS A780GM-A ultra
Kingston 2GB DDR2 800Mhz *2
Western Digital 320GB Sata
Cooler Master Elite Casing
Silverstone Strider 560W

okay....so will any of my other components/hardware listed above bottleneck other hardware(s)?

hey guys pls recommend me an RM2000++ mid-end gaming rig with a 19"~20"LCD monitor.
this comp mainly use to watch movies, play games like Dota, Fable, Crysis at mid graphics settings.
must be AMD proc cos its cheaper mah
