RAM 1066mhz but 800mhz

hye there...needs help regarding my 4 gigs corsair XMs2 8500C5....
the problem is my motherboard can recognize the ram by 800mhz and the ram should run by 1066mhz,
so i change the setup the ram and my computer will restart(reboot) and take 3hours time.
After reboot, my computer will go back to 800mhz...so how i want to figure it..thank you

Need help regarding ram, I have 4gig and want to upgrade to 8gig, my mb can support to 16g, so the question is, can my psu 500 watt support the high ram?does this amount will affect the windows(im using windows vista home premium) because i heard 4g is enough for vista? my application is autocad(more to simulation 3d) and play game. So i need help from sifu here...
