Deciding between Panasonic & Samsung Plasma

Hi guys, need your advice, I've been reading the info on this forum and now I've went to see some TVs at the shops. An idea of what I am looking for:

- A plasma TV larger than 50 inches
- Either Panasonic or Samsung, judging by the feedback here
- I don't really need 3D

So far the prices I've got from 3 places I've visited:

Harvey Norman:
Panasonic ST30K 55" plasma: at RM8,750 with one 3D glasses and a BDT110 Bluray Player which the salesman said is worth RM1,000
Panasonic VT30K 65" plasma: I forgot to ask! But I do remember it wasn't cheap...
Samsung D550 59" plasma: at RM8,610 I forgot to ask how many 3D glasses provided...
Samsung D8000 51" plasma: at RM8,610 with CYSTC1100 (Skype camera?) and two 3D glasses and free Galaxy Tab 10.1
Samsung D8000 64" plasma: at RM14,500 with 3 year warranty and two 3D glasses and free Galaxy Tab 10.1

Sen Heng:
Panasonic ST30K 55" plasma: RM8,750
Panasonic VT30K 65" plasma: RM17,999
Samsung D8000 51" plasma: RM8,999
Samsung D8000 64" plasma: RM12,799 but only 2 years warranty and two 3D glasses but no free Galaxy Tab. Another outlet quoted me RM12,499.

Legend SS2:
Samsung D550 59" plasma: at RM7,900
Samsung D8000 64" plasma: RM12,650 but only 2 years warranty and two 3D glasses and free Galaxy Tab 10.1 but NO EASY PAY! And have to wait 1 week..

I've seen that the cheapest purchased P65VT30K on this forum was RM12,800 but I couldn't find anywhere who would offer even RM13,000 for it and most didn't have stock.

Would like advice, I've read online that the D8000 Samsung plasma TVs are very highly rated and at this price, it's around RM3,000 difference from a 64" and the D550's 59". Is it worth it? Because I can get a 59" + 50" with RM12,000 or thereabouts.... and why is Legend SS2 so cheap? Are they selling used sets?

I'm leaning towards the D8000 64" at RM12,650 with a free Galaxy Tab which is worth at least RM1,500 which puts the price of the TV at just RM11,000! But I'm distracted by the 59" at RM7,900 and the idea that I can get the 59" and another 50" for total RM11,000!

Need some sifu's opinions...

Transfer SMS ONLY from Nokia E90 to Blackberry

I have just bought a new Blackberry Bold. I have been looking online if there is any method to transfer my 1,000+ SMSes from my old Nokia to Blackberry, got a program called 'Noki' which can read backup of Nokia.

HOW can I transfer SMS ONLY from nokia e90 to blackberry? I am unable to google for an answer.

LTE and WiMAX in Malaysia

Ok I'm looking at the CES news and it's all LTE LTE LTE LTE. As a YTL Yes user, I'm asking myself this question: where are the new WiMAX devices?

Ok, so far based on what I've seen, here are the current WiMAX devices which would be mainstream popular:

Sprint/Clearwire (WiMAX)
- HTC Evo 4G
- Samsung Epic 4G
- HTC Evo Shift 4G (just announced at CES)
- RIM Playbook 4G (announced at CES, released this year March)

Yota (WiMAX)
- Yota Max 4G (Windows Mobile 6.5) phone

And so far, these are the future (i.e. in 6-8 months) LTE devices which would be mainstream popular:

Verizon (LTE)
iPhone 4 LTE (seems like going to be announced on Tuesday)
iPad 2 LTE
HTC Thunderbolt phone
LG Revolution phone
Samsung SCH-i520 phone (no name yet)
Motorola Xoom tablet
Motorola Droid Bionic tablet
Samsung Galaxy Tab 2

Well, they haven't even launched yet but LTE already has a larger device portfolio than WiMAX which has been around the world for the last 2 years.

With Maxis and Celcom going down the LTE route, and since I am currently a customer of Yes, will I be looking in envy at all the people getting LTE devices while WiMAX gets nothing? I Or should I plan to jump on Maxis/Celcom's LTE once it comes? No point having a good network if there are no good devices. I WANT A WIMAX IPHONE!!!

hi guys, i've just installed ubuntu over the last weekend, yay!

i'm running gsopcast front-end and vlc for watching a stream of sports, the stream wasn't really stable and was wondering why so i booted up my process monitor (quite a useful program). the download stream graph is like a snake (screenshots below)!!

my s/n ratio is really pretty, around 30dB iirc, so i'm curious as to why this is happening. is there any way i can improve this? i installed deluge and tested out bittorents, the graph is similar.

edit: using the RM66 streamyx line btw, using an old aztech dsl305e without filter.

Portable DVDs

Hi all, need some feedback about Portable DVD players. Yes, buying a notebook would be better, but I'm looking for info about Portable DVD players......

Reviews and specs and the technology I can find online, but these questions I can't find the answers:

1. What brands and models do we have in Malaysia (i.e. Lowyat)?

2. What is a reasonable price range in Malaysia?

3. I saw the Mustek WTS thread, with reference to those items RM500-ish is cheap, RM1k+ is expensive for a Portable DVD player?
