TV Tuner Card

Hi guys!

I previously posted a thread about building or looking for a good HTPC.

Ive decided to build my own with the best of everything that i can find on the market so that i can make it future-proof.

The only problem is now after walking around the whole PC area in Sunway, i was still not able to find a shop selling a good high-end TV TUNER card like Hauppauge or something similar.

Where can i find a good tv tuner card or a good shop that can build me a good HTPC and has access to a good variety of cases that would look good in my living room?

Thanks so much!

Or should i still go with DELL/HP? Any models to recommend?

For the remote i was thinking of getting the Logitech Harmony One which should work from what ive read.

Thanks once again!

Ideal Media Centre PC?

Hi guys!

This is my virgin post after since i signed up. I think ive only ever posted once or twice before this? So a big hello to everyone!

I will be moving into my new home very shortly and am in the midst of preparing my home theatre system now.

I would actually like to seek some help with the media centre PC's.

The items i've purchased/already own so far is as follows

1. Panasonic 50' S series plasma tv (it seems the X is not capable of Full HD and the S is?)
2. Bose Lifestyle 48 home theatre system
3. PS3

As i have close to 2TB of files in music, family photos, videos etc, i previously used a Mac Mini that i used as a media centre with the Front Row.

Ive previously had abit of fun with the Windows Media Centre Edition and i must say, even in its first edition, it was quite fun and i enjoyed using it alot.

Ive heard that the latest version that comes with Windows 7 is much much better.

Ive surfed Dell and HP's website but not much items come up.

Now my options are 1. to buy a dell XPS Studio 9000 and load it up with everything available including the Dell Remote for Media Centre

2. To build one myself.

The dell XPS 9000 will cost close to 9k with everything inside.

Or should i customize one myself?

What kind of TV tuner card would be ideal to connect to Astro, regular TV?

What sound card to use to connect to the bose and what graphics card can output in HDMI etc etc.

Thanks so much for all your help in advance. I have approx RM10k to work on this project but of course, where i can save, i would like very much to save.

Thanks once again for ALL HELP! Greatly appreciated.
Huawei E1550 Digi Explore Problem on MAC's

Hi All!

I signed up for the DiGi RM88 Explore package yesterday and i got the Huawei E1550 USB Modem.

My comp is a Macbook(Black) running Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6.1)

All updates are current on my OS.

When i plug in the Huawei USB modem after boot up and loaded, the Celcom Broadband Folder opens.

Upon double clicking, there is an error. You cannot initiate that installer at all and it will keep showing errors if you keep clicking.

So i thought maybe it was a problem with my computer.

I tried on my wife's Macbook running Mac OS X Leopard (10.5).

The same Celcom folder pops up and i double click the installer.

This time it installs perfectly but upon opening the "celcom" application, after awhile it says "fail to find device".

But the Huawei is plugged in or i wouldnt have been able to do the installation and the light is blinking so it should be connected and powered.

I doubt the Digi centre can help me but i was hoping someone else here might have had similar problems?

Any help is much appreciated and let me say a big thank you in advance for any help. Really looking forward to trying Digi as ive heard awesome things about it.
