Early last year we heard rumors or news that Sime Darby will be bringing in the i40 estate version of the car into our shores. I'm not sure how true is it but more and more pictures has been uploaded online and to date the news has becoming more and more real. So let's see what the car offers in overseas.

It's actually made for the Europe market and is competing with the segment similar to Ford Mondeo or Mazda 6 estate. Thanks to the brilliance design of Peter Schreyer on the previous models like Elantra and Veloster, the new i40 estate comes with the similar Fluidic Sculpture design. The car was launched in 2011 in Europe. The sedan was launched last year. In Europe there are three engines—a 1.7-litre turbodiesel in two states of tune (116 HP and 136 HP), as well as 1.6-litre (141 HP) and 2.0-litre (177 HP) direct-injected petrol units—are paired to either a six-speed automatic gearbox or a six-speed manual gearbox.
