Need advise on gaming rig upgrade

Hi sifus,

I am looking to upgrade some parts of my current 5 years old PC. I will be using the PC mainly for gaming. Budget would be RM3,000.

Did some research and came up roughly with the below parts. Please advise on the list.

CPU: Core i5 2500 (RM644)
MOBO: Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3 (RM539)
GPU: MSi GTX570 Twin Frozer iii (RM1,119)
RAM: *Suggest me, budget RM300 for 8gb and above.

and still have RM400 to play around, maybe spend on cooling etc?

Roughly how much juice from the PSU do i need? I need to check the one i'm currently using, iirc its 550w.

Price is from viewnet. Thank you for the help :-)

CCNA Study Loan

I am asking this on behalf of a friend. He just did his stpm and i heard from him his results are decent. The thing is he no longer want to study and he wanted to start working ( family problems ). I have suggested to him to do some computing related certificate before start working and it happen that he is very interested in networking, so i have directed him to CCNA path. The thing is, his family financial condition doesn't allow him to take the course. So i am wondering is there any loan that you guys know that a CCNA student can take?

I dont think PTPTN support CCNA loan, so is there any other choice beside "big-ear-hole"?

Changing OEM Logo And Info In My Computer

By default, the General tab (to access right-click on My Computer Icon, then point Properties) contains information on the Windows version, processor, memory, registered user and registration identity.

Below that windows, there might contain optional informations such as the computer manufacture logo, company info and so on. This guide will teach you how to change those information that that particular area.

The information is not held in the registry, but in an old-style .INI file, which can be created in any plain-text editor including Windows Notepad.

*** REMEMBER TO BACKUP THE FILES THAT YOU ARE GOING TO MODIFY ***

This file can have two sections:

1. The first section, has a section header called [General], and within that section - two entries:

*Manufacturer=<text>

*Model=<text>

2. The second section, headed [Support Information], is optional, but if present adds a button with that label to the page. The entries after that heading should be in the form:

* Line1=<some text>

* Line2=<more text>

* Line3=<more text>

and so on. The limit on the number and length of lines seems limited only by the 64 KB general limit on .INI files.

The file should be saved in the %systemroot%\system folder (for Windows 98/ME computers) or in %systemroot%\system32 folder (for W2K/XP/2003 computers) as OEMINFO.INI.

The picture is a 256-colour-Windows bitmap (.BMP) file.

Microsoft states that the size should be 96 pixels square when using small fonts in Display Property settings, or 120 square with large fonts.

The file should be saved in the %systemroot%\system folder (for Windows 98/ME computers) or in %systemroot%\system32 folder (for W2K/XP/2003 computers) as OEMLOGO.BMP.

No other entry in the .INI file is required, but the latter must exist and have a populated [General] section for the bitmap to be visible in Display Properties.

No reboot is necessary in order for the hack to take place.

To change the picture/ logo, replace the bmp file located in c:/windows/system32/oemlogo with the picture you desired. The picture must be in 96x96 px.

Coming Soon

* Screenshots - just reformmated my pc and still looking for my Adobe PS to edit a pic. But this guide should be working as i tried it before.

Hacking / Computer Security Cases In Malaysia

Im currently doing a research on the title above. I have Google'd for more information of such cases but most of the results given back were related to Akta Akta. What i want to know is the cases, the ppl involved and legal action that has been taken.

Im still searching for more examples of these cases that happened in Malaysia. I would like to get more information from here as well. To be frank, i dont know how to get more relevant results from google anymore. If there is a website that archive this kind of cases or a website that contains news specially about these cases, plz kindly let me know.

Thx.
