Oh goody: A recent WikiLeaks document dump of the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade agreement reveals that the deal compels Internet service providers to hand over the identities of copyright infringers to rights holders. ZDNet has done a very thorough deep dive through the leaked documents and has found that ISPs are about to be responsible for keeping track of which of their customers frequently infringe upon copyrighted material and for reporting those infringing users to content creators.

The relevant section here is Article I7, which ZDNet reports “mandates that each party to the TPP must establish a judicial or administrative procedure through which rights holders can obtain the identity of a copyright infringer from an ISP in a timely and efficient manner” so they can protect themselves against further infringement.

Interestingly, this latest version of TPP seems to have significantly changed the language to favor rights holders compared to earlier drafts. In earlier versions, for example, TPP did not want ISPs to bear major costs for tracking down and identifying alleged pirates. ISPs in this version of TPP, which WikiLeaks claims is the final version, will now have to “expeditiously remove or disable access to material residing on their networks or systems upon obtaining actual knowledge of the infringement.”

Saudi Arabia:Employer chopsoff hand of Indian maid

A woman from Tamil Nadu -- working in a Saudi household as a domestic help -- has been hospitalised in Riyadh in a critical condition after her right hand was chopped off by he employer, as per TV reports.

Kasturi Munirathnam, who has suffered severe injuries on her body and limbs, has been admitted to Kingdom Hospital, Manorama News reported.

The woman, who hails from North Arcot near Vellore, had reached Saudi Arabia two months ago. In August, Kasturi was first taken to Damam and later shifted to a house in Riyadh, where only women stayed.

She was reportedly burdened with heavy workload and was not even allowed to have telephonic conversation with her relatives in India.

When Kasturi managed to get help from a Tamil Nadu native, she was locked up inside a room and was subjected to mental and physical torture ever since.

Once when she received death threat from the women, she tried to escape through the window of her room. However, when she got out, her hand was chopped off allegedly by her employer.

Currently, the Tamil Nadu wing of Indian Social Forum is taking care of the woman. The Indian embassy officials have met her and extended all support to her.

The investigation, which was carried out by Al-Sahafa police, has been handed over to Saudi Investigation Bureau, reports said.

Kasturi is the breadwinner of her family, which consists of her ailing husband, three daughters and one son.

And recently a rumor has been making the rounds that Ellison, a long-time NBA fan, is considering bidding for ownership of the Sacramento Kings to prevent them from moving to Seattle.

Bloomberg ranks number two on the list. He net worth is estimated at $27b. Bloomberg is $5b. richer than he was last year thanks to Bloomberg LP, the financial data company he founded in 1982. Bloomberg also owns more than 10 homes in Manhattan, Westchester County, Bermuda, Vail and the Hamptons.

In third place is billionaire Sheldon Adelson, who has made his money through casino ownership. Adelson, owner of the Israel Hayom newspaper, has an estimated net worth of $26.5b., significantly more than last year following the 20% rise in Las Vegas Sands Casino shares since last summer.

Facebook cofounder Mark Zuckerberg’s worth has dwindled over the past year due to Facebook’s unsuccessful stock issue on Wall Street. However, Zuckerberg, who is ranked the 16th richest Jew in the world, is still worth $13.3b. Surprisingly, he is not the youngest Jewish billionaire: Dustin Moskovitz, Zuckerberg’s former roommate and Facebook cofounder, is eight days younger. Ofer is not the only Israeli who has gotten richer over the past year. Shari Arison’s wealth grew $4.2b. this year, and the net worth of Eyal Ofer, Idan’s brother, increased by $200m.

Malawi bans child marriage

Women rights campaigners hailed the move as "a great day for Malawian girls" and said the law would help boost development in one of the world's poorest countries.

But they warned Malawi would not end child marriage without concerted efforts to tackle poverty and end harmful traditional practices like early sexual initiations.

"This law is extremely crucial because child marriage is a big, big problem in our country," said parliamentarian Jessie Kabwila who helped push for the new legislation.

"The country will for the first time clearly articulate that we are saying 'No' to child marriage."

Malawi has one of the world's highest rates of child marriage. Half of girls wed before their 18th birthday and nearly one in eight is married by 15.

Early marriage not only deprives girls of education and opportunities, but also increases the risk of death or serious childbirth injuries if they have babies before their bodies are ready. Child brides are also at greater risk of domestic and sexual violence.

"This law is very important because of the number of girls who drop out of school because they are going to get married, and because of the high numbers of girls who are dying when they are giving birth," Kabwila told Thomson Reuters Foundation in a phone interview.

"We cannot talk about development if we have child marriage. Women's empowerment is a crucial player in development and women cannot be empowered if they are not educated."

She said parliament had voted unanimously last Thursday for the Marriage, Divorce and Family Relations Bill which the president is due to sign into law within three weeks.

Child marriage is deeply entrenched in Malawi's society partly because of a belief that a girl should marry as early as possible to maximize her fertility.

Girls are currently allowed to marry at 16, or 15 with parental consent. But many marry much younger.

Brussels Mughogho, Malawi country director of development charity EveryChild, said poverty pushed some families to marry off young daughters in exchange for a dowry payment or so that they had one less mouth to feed.

Mughogho said it was also vital to work with traditional leaders to end early sexual initiations which fuel child marriage.

In parts of Malawi, when a girl reaches puberty she may receive a night-time visit from an older man - known as "a hyena" - who has sex with girls to prepare them for marriage.

"There are so many driving factors behind child marriage," Mughogho said. "This is a very important step that we've taken, but child marriage will never end with legal instruments alone."

A street magician had his head chopped off by Islamic State thugs for entertaining passers-by with his tricks.

The talented performer, loved by children, was dragged away while performing in the jihadists’ “capital” of Raqqa in Syria.

He was later beheaded in a public square after his harmless stunts, similar to those of Bradford-born superstar Dynamo, were deemed to insult Islam.

A local who fled to safety in Turkey called his murder “barbarism and butchery.”

The street magician was arrested by IS thugs during an impromptu 'show' on a street corner as he tried to bring some much-needed cheer to the Syrian city.

He was beheaded in public in a square after the religious fanatics branded his harmless tricks as anti-Islam and an insult to God because they created 'illusions and falsehood'.

They denounced the terrified magician's show as haram - or forbidden by the Koran - because it was idle entertainment and kept locals from praying and attending the mosque.

The activist who fled said: "The magician was a popular man who entertained people with little tricks on the street like making coins or phone disappear.

"He was just called Sorcerer by people and children loved him. He was doing nothing anti-Islamic but he paid for it with his life.

"This is the reality of life in Raqqa, murdered in the name of Allah for performing a few tricks."

Raqqa was once one of the most liberal and tolerant places in Syria with a mix of religions living side-by-side.

2. Amina bint Abdulhalim Nassar, a Saudi woman, was beheaded by the Saudi police, because they found "unknown liquids in bottles" in her home, and said she was a practioner of witchcraft.

3. An herbal healer was recently executed in Saudi Arabia for black magic.

4. A Christian family was recently arrested for witchcraft for displaying a Christmas tree in their home in Saudi Arabia.

5. The death sentence for magic and "witchcraft" is a fairly common occurance in Saudi Arabia, Gaza, Bahrain, and various other nations in the Persian Gulf region.

6. Hell, Hamas has publically announced they see magicans and the like as Jewish and Christian demons attempting to possess Palestinians, and as such, it's a crime punishable by death. Just recently, a woman in Gaza attempted to kill her child, because she felt the child was possessed by Jewish spirits, and she wasn't charged because of it.
