2nd Hand Cars or Brand New?

Hey sifus,

Would like to get an honest and descriptive opinion/suggestions on either getting a brand new car or a used one.

The following is my situation:

I have a 2013 Jazz Hybrid that I've paid 5 years, with 4 years remaining. Just passed 100k mark. It just got to me the other day that I feel like the hybrid technology could be obsolete one day. Nowadays engine technology is getting more and more fuel efficient making them not too far off from hybrid tech. So I feel like it could be a little burden to maintain in the future? e.g: replacing the hybrid battery etc.

Good timing is that my mum-in-laws 10y.o car broken down and she's willing to take over the Jazz. Im thinking of either getting a used>2014 Mazda CX-5 or any brand new ones along the same body type like Honda HRV? I'm willing to fork out <RM1200 monthly. The lesser the better of course. I have a wife and kid, and probably expanding the family a little bit more hehe so spacious cars are usually more ideal.

How's the risk for 2nd hand cars? Are the mileage stated believable? Are they easily tweaked? How's the maintenance cost for Mazda cars?

Hey all, the dilemma has been quite a while. I just changed my phone to the iP7,
Need to use the damn lightning to aux converter, but i feel it's a bit inconvenient for the long run and I don't wanna abuse that port.
My budget is around <RM150, my choice is either

(Opinion) Office Relocating

Hey all, just need a quick opinion and thoughts on this.
We're relocating from Sri Hartamas to Bukit Damansara.
Given that the new office is like 500m away from Semantan MRT Station.
Wife can still send me to Surian MRT Station (Nearby where we live).
I also thought of getting an electric scooter like Xiaomi Mijia Scooter for easier commuting to/from the MRT Stations.

Public Transport (30mins journey) : RM2.90 (TnG) x 20/days = RM58 x 2 (Return) = RM116/monthly
Own Car (45mins journey) : (RM60 x 4 weeks petrol) + (RM112 toll) = RM352/monthly

OR is there better options? Just worried about safety and cost.

Honda Jazz Hybrid's Fuse

Hey all, I think I blew my cigarette lighter's a few months ago. Took out the fuse to see it's actually blew.
Funny thing is that I bought a minifuse (those with sticking out legs) instead of the microfuse before I inspect the blown fuse.
I don't wanna make a trip to workshop and fetch just 1 mere microfuse, I was wondering if dear sifus know if it's ok to take a fuse that's of the same rating from other component?
The manual book states that theres quite a few with fuses but stated "Not Used". does that mean theyre spare fuses?

e.g Fuse in component 13 (20A) blew, there's a 20A Fuse in component 28 that's not being used. can i take it and replace it over in 13?

Moon Baby Cradle

Hey everyone, I'm an excited father awaiting for a child to be delivered in 2 weeks tops! insyaAllah hope all goes well.
I decided to spend my spare times building a cradle for my kid.
Upon completion, I just realize the most important bits of it, HOW SAFE IS IT?! lol
I need opinions on how I can improvise the cradle for child-proof?

Do note that the cradle won't be sitting in the bedroom for daily usages, it'll be used occasionally when we're in the living room or something.

Macbook Pro Upgrade

Hey lowyatians,

I purchased a 2009 Macbook Pro from a friend. I was actually looking for tablet hybrids earlier like Teclast X98 of Mi Pad 2 (Win 10 Ver) but it seems like they both aren't out yet and demos arent around to test out.
It's also because my friend let it go for RM500, indeed a steal right? The specs as far as i remember are as follows:

2.26 ghz intel core 2 duo
4gb ram
256mb gc
250hdd

and a battery that yet to be changed. was thinking on upgrading to 250gb SSD Samsung 850evo? what would you guys recommend?

Should I proceed buying a property?

Hello everyone,

First things first, I am utterly noob in anything that covers property investments
As a first time home buyer, should I really proceed with a 500k+ 800sqf Serviced Condominium in Bukit Jelutong? Date of completion 2018. Still deciding whether to keep it as own stay or rental/homestay.
I know for an instance that the area will be developed seeing that it's surrounding is of elite residential area and of low density. Convenience wise I think it's worth getting the property.

Should I really get it this year? Or are we expecting recession anytime sooner?
More importantly, I just started working, a fresh graduate with starting salary 3k.
Bank called up saying it's not sufficient enough with my basic salary as the monthly repayment for loan will be 2.5k. I imagine i'll earn enough by 2018 to save up for anything extra prior to property's completion.
Is there any pros and cons to joint loan with my partner?
I feel like a 500k loan is such a burden, should I be patient, wait and look for other cheaper alternatives in the future?

i already have a mid range desktop which had broken its mobo couple of months ago
my current desktop sprcs owns a core 2 duo, 4gb of ram, 750gb hdisk, 8500gt
i was just thinking of upgrading for a better mobo, cpu and gc
i was thinking of getting quad core or i5 for cpu
havent thought anything for mobo yet
and 9800gt 1gb for gc, any recommendations and tips would be very helpful
