"Easy" job

Morning all. Just want to collect some info and insights on what do you think is classified as easy job.

What I meant by easy is, the job doesn't require much thinking (do as instructed), 9-6 desk job (no overtime, no colleague frowning you leave early or on time), basically job that everyone will say, "Sigh, I wish I was her/him. So free, nothing to do"

The reason I ask is because I'm currently finding for this type of job. I would say now I'm in a slump. I have no mood to work, but I still want income coming in as usual, therefore I'm looking for some easy, stress free job to do for the mean time. Salary wise, if can get about 2-2.5K is alright.

I personally thinks its admin. But of course every job has its up and down, sometimes problems appear and takes time to resolve, but overall its relatively easy job.

Working in accounting firm

Hey guys. I actually posted this in job&careers but not much respond. I want to get inside info, experience and opinion on working in accounting firm.

What service does accounting firm provide? I have no idea, please tell me.

If I apply to be account assistant, do I need to do things like visit clients, request documents from clients or ask clients about a transactions? Is there a post for just office tasks? I'm not an aggresive person plus I don't have my own car to go around, so I'm not sure if a firm will actually want to hire me.

And talking about future career, how the demand will be if I wrote in my resume xx year experience in accounting firm.

Retrenchment Compensation

Hey guys. First off, sorry if I post this is wrong place.

I got a situation here.
Currently (or should I say previously? Hmm..) the place I'm working at ABC Sdn Bhd, subsidiary to OMG Holding, is going through a tough time and had to retrench almost 80% of the staff. The company is under a heavy debt, and their newest move is to sell the company, ABC S/B and transfer all the staff to GG Sdn Bhd, also a subsidiary to OMG Holding.

The 1st batch, 50%, were under ABC when they were retrench wasn't granted a compensation mainly due to the heavy debt. Now the remaining 30%, 2nd batch, were retrench under new company, GG Sdn Bhd. And apparently by law, staff is not entitle for compensation because is 'new' company/management. Many staff especially the one who had dedicated 10years were furious.

1. Since the 1st batch was still under ABC they are entitle a compensation regardless of company's performance right?
2. For 2nd batch, is there any way or any place we could go to 'fight'. At least we get back something rather than nothing.
3. Is there such thing as, 'suing the company will guarantee your win'? If yes, what are the procedure.
