Japanese Design Today 100

QUOTE

This traveling exhibition, “Japanese Design Today 100,” is a selection of approximately 100 of the finest examples of Japanese design created between the 1990s and the present, focusing on products used in everyday life. An additional 13 objects of modern design, such as Honda Super Cub and Nikon F, were included from the early postwar years (mainly from the fifties) to show the origin of today’s design.

The design of household products acts as a mirror, reflecting the life of our society and the personal lifestyles of individuals. These designs give a vivid picture of the hopes and dreams of the people who used the products as well as the designers and corporations who created them. Through this exhibition, we hope that we could not only introduce recent trends and features of the Japanese designs but also offer some insights into the nature of Japanese culture of today.

Duration: 8th March (Mon) – 11th April (Sun)

Venue: National Art Gallery - No.2, Jalan Temerloh, Off Jalan Tun Razak, 53200 Kuala Lumpur

Admission: Free

Source: http://www.jfkl.org.my/events/event_body.php?id=197

Basically it's a showcase of Japan design.
Interesting Read: State of the Blogosphere 2008

State of the Blogosphere / 2008

QUOTE

Introduction
Welcome to Technorati’s State of the Blogosphere 2008 report, which will be released in five consecutive daily segments. Since 2004, our annual study has unearthed and analyzed the trends and themes of blogging, but for the 2008 study, we resolved to go beyond the numbers of the Technorati Index to deliver even deeper insights into the blogging mind. For the first time, we surveyed bloggers directly about the role of blogging in their lives, the tools, time, and resources used to produce their blogs, and how blogging has impacted them personally, professionally, and financially. Our bloggers were generous with their thoughts and insights. Thanks to all of the bloggers who took the time to respond to our survey.

Link: http://www.technorati.com/blogging/state-of-the-blogosphere/

I think it's quite an interesting read about the blogosphere statistic of year 2008. One that quite interested me is this Asian Bloggers analysis, looks like Asian Bloggers are more into earning money thru blogging.

[project] Blog Action Day

http://blogactionday.org/

QUOTE

Get involved!

Getting involved is easy! It doesn't take much, but our combined efforts will have a big impact. Whatever you choose to do, we'd appreciate it if you'd register your blog so we can keep track.

There are three things you can do to participate in Blog Action Day:

Post on October 15th relating to the environment

The best way to participate is to post on your blog something that relates to the environment. Your post can be about anything to do with the environment. So you could write a post which is offtopic for your blog OR relate the environment back to your topic in some way.

For example, if you had a blog about programming and technology, you could write about applications used for the environment, how to make your office more sustainable, how to stop wasting paper, why technology will save the environment, or just write about an environmental issue which has nothing to do with programming!

As another example, if you wrote about restaurants, you could write about kitchen practices that make for a more environmentally friendly workplace, food packaging, produce made from sustainable farming or any of a multitude of topics.

What works best is to keep writing as you normally would. Your audience reads your blog for a reason, you don't need to suddenly change your voice, style or emphasis. Simply find an angle on your regular postings which relates to the environment.

Our aim is to get people thinking, discussing, questioning and talking about the environment, from every angle, niche, viewpoint and personality.

Donate your day's earnings to charity

A single day's earnings often don't amount to much, but pooled together will make a difference. Why not donate your day's earnings to a charity to show your support. You can find a list of "official" Blog Action Day charities on the site, or choose your own. Blog Action Day itself does not accept money, so you will need to deal directly with the charities.

Publicize Blog Action Day

The more people who hear about Blog Action Day, the better. Help promote the day with a banner or post on your blog.

Anyone interested?

How to make no moderation for comment?

Whenever a person (new poster) posting in my blog, will need my moderation, how to make it so that no moderation is needed? I had implemented the anti-spam text (WP plugin) to prevent spam.

I checked my discussion option there, moderation is unchecked. I told my fren (new poster) to help test comment but yet moderation is needed.

So, how to completely remove the moderation?

Or actually is this a good practice? Getting moderation on is actually better?

Any Icon Buffet user here?

this is my page:

http://www.iconbuffet.com/people/jayhan

just wanna know any icon buffet user here? Maybe we can be friends.

If interested, either u can join by yourself or posting up ur email address and i will invite you!

and then we can start sharing icons!

for the fun, joyness and the cute icons

so far i just collected 9 free icon set

QUOTE

The IconBuffet Story

So here's the deal... a few years back we launched the original IconBuffet. At the time we sold stock icons to web designers and other geeky folks all over the world. After a while we figured it would be totally sweet to give away free icons every month to IconBuffet members. Only there's a little twist... not everyone gets the same icons. So you have to swap icons with your friends to get them all. Kinda like baseball cards. Only you can use them on your website.

Then this crazy thing happened... tons of people came to IconBuffet, and this huge IconBuffet community started to grow. Since then we've done a lot of work to make the Buffet better, friendlier, and easier to use. We still do stock icons, but now we're more about our growing community of friends.

Today the Chefs at IconBuffet painstakingly create dozens of new free icons each month which are somewhat randomly delivered to our members according to super-secret schedules. If you're not already a member, you should really sign up. We hope you enjoy the show!

LYN Icon Buffet User
1.
