Nissan Sentra Remote problem

Im having problem with my 2007 1.8xgl sentra remote.
It doesnt work 95 % of the time even though i have changed the battery.
Anyone having this problem?
Went to the workshop and they say have to change the whole alarm system which cost Rm400 ++ (which is not nissan alarm but some local alarn with very ugly key fob)
Did not want to get cheated first so ask you guys for opinions.
How much will an original nissan alarm cost?
