KUALA LUMPUR: Papaya milk may not sound like your usual drink, but in Taiwan, it is huge enough to give bubble tea a run for its money.

Made from papayas and fresh milk, this smooth and creamy beverage is suitable to quench one's thirst on a hot day.

Now, the drink is set to make its presence felt here, with Kaohsiung Milk King's Malaysian partner targeting to open up outlets in 1Utama, Midvalley and Sunway Pyramid shopping complexes by August.

Milk King Sdn Bhd managing director Lee Sack Choon said the Taiwanese community in Malaysia as well as Malaysians who had studied in Taiwan were excited that the beverage is finally making its way to the country.

“The drink is delicious and healthy. It may sound easy to make but a perfect cup of papaya milk is dependent on the right amount of water, good quality papayas and fresh milk, and duration of blending,” he said after the launch of the 14th Malaysian International Food & Beverage Trade Fair 2013 by Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

Ismail Sabri lamented that Malaysian food producers were not aware of the need to patent their products.

“We have very good home-grown products with beautiful packaging but unfortunately I did not see any R' or TM' logos. Awareness among our entrepreneurs on the need to protect their branding is still low,” he said in a press conference.

In 2011, Malaysia exported RM20.6bil worth of food products to about 200 countries.

Meanwhile, the Health Ministry said it had not detected traces of maleic acid during tests on 30 samples of Taiwanese food products, which range from tapioca pearls, dried noodles and tapioca starch, that were sold here.

The public need not worry about the safety of food imported from Taiwan as the ministry would continue its observations, said its food safety and quality division senior director Noraini Mohd Othman in a statement .

PDRM balai inefficiency. How and whom to complain?

2 weeks ago my relative's shop was robbed. His premise has CCTV and outside has the Polis box. So he report balai. This week the polis contact him they have identified both suspects, their house address, date of birth and say both are siblings.

But the polis say they unable to arrest them because they need to catch them red handed when they commit another crime again next time. This logic I cannot brain.

Can I know to whom/email/facebook that I can complain to make this polis station more efficient in solving this case?

Both suspects are also commit a string of 6 robberies after robbing my relative's.
