Banks urged to go easy on CTOS, CCRIS flagging to help young buy houses

KUALA LUMPUR: Banking institutions were urged to be flexible to the young whose names are listed on Credit Tip-Off Sdn Bhd (CTOS) and Central Credit Reference Information System (CCRIS) to enable them to get housing loans.

Datuk Idris Haron (BN-Tangga Batu) suggested that the CTOS and CCRIS conditions should not be imposed on them.

"They might have made a wrong move in managing their finances at the outset, as a result their names are listed in CTOS and CCRIS and they are facing problems to secure housing loans. So, I propose the Finance Ministry and banks be flexible with them," he said.

Idris, who is also Syarikat Perumahan Negara Berhad (SPNB) chairman, said in this manner it would not affect the opportunity of the young to invest in a home.

"A house is an immobile property, not mobile property like a car or a motorcycle. It can also be used as collateral. So, if the applicant runs away, the bank can auction the house to recover the amount it lost," he said when debating the 2013 Supply Bill in the Dewan Rakyat.

Furthermore, Idris also suggested that the government introduce a ceiling price on high-end housing projects, specifically in urban areas, to control house prices and prevent speculation on property.

Idris also suggested that the real property gains tax period imposed be raised to 10 years from five to avoid resale of property in a short period of time.

CTOS and CCRIS are fine as it is, if they made the wrong move and have themselves a lot of debt then they need to get it right first and prove themselves that they can manage their financial first.

SUKE Expressway to solve congestion - 24 September 2012

KUALA LUMPUR: The construction of Sungai Besi-Ulu Kelang Elevated Expressway (SUKE) will solve traffic congestion on several major highways in the Klang Valley.

Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department SK Devamany said SUKE will become an alternative route and reduce congestion on the Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2), especially in Ulu Kelang, Ampang and Pandan Indah.

"SUKE will also create a new route on the Grand Saga Expressway towards Kuala Lumpur now accessible only via Jalan Cheras," he told Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim (PKR-Bandar Tun Razak) in Dewan Rakyat here today.

Abdul Khalid who is also the Menteri Besar of Selangor asked how the construction of SUKE could solve traffic congestion in the Klang Valley.

Devamany said SUKE will serve as an effective traffic dispersal system as it provides a link between the city centre and eastern Klang Valley via Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Expressway (AKLEH).

It will also link eastern and northern Klang Valley via Duta-Ulu Klang Elevated Expressway (DUKE).

"It also connects and complements DUKE, AKLEH, Grand Saga Expressway, Besraya Expressway, Kuala Lumpur-Seremban Expressway and Shah Alam Expressway." - BERNAMA

Not sure if this was posted. Just FYI in Property Talk as it may affect the property around this highway, good or badly.

Maxis Wireless Broadband - Questions

Hi,

I just got a Maxis Wireless Broadband together with the standard Huawei E220 USB modem.
It seems more often than not, I would have problem connecting and Windows would tell me the modem is busy or the port is being used by another application and what not. Seems like the software/driver not closing/shutting the things down cleanly.

Anyone else experienced this and have a solution to it? Appreciate if someone can share!

I play around with the Network settings in the modem and wonder what's the difference between "unet" and "maxisbb" when we set the APN. People say we should use maxisbb but I would like to know more. Any guru can share?

115.134.x.x ONLY IP range now?!

Hi,

Since two days back early Tuesday morning after getting disconnected from 60.x.x.x IP range, I have been limited to only 115.134.X.X damn slow connection to WoW IP range. I've retried many many times (close to 100) and unable to get any other IP range at all but only 115.134.X.X.

I used to get decent and stable connection to stable WoW proxy server in Australia and now with the 115.134.x.x IP range, i get packet lost every 20 pings.

I stay around Cheras area and is anyone else getting affected as well?
