Street Lights Frequent Failure

Hi K,

There are these bunch of street lights near my residence which goes faulty at least once every month.

I've to call this MPSJ every month and usually after 3 or 4 calls, they'll get the lights fixed. After 3 or 4 bloody calls.

I've told them that the lights are failing every month and there's something more to this regular repair that they're doing which is just a temporary solution and I'm sick and tired of calling them every month.
Secondly it's super dark and is inviting for crimes and robbery.

When they send me the yearly assessment tax, they've set a deadline after which I've to pay some additional fee.

Now as a tax payer, is there any way that I can demand these people to fix the street lights after my first call and within a few days period, failing which I can take some action against them? I'd like to know my rights and how can I enforce them.

They seem to be least worried about my calls and I'm wondering if there are any higher authorities that I can approach.

Secondly, if at all some unwanted incident happens to me or my car during this period, can I sue them?

Laptop Stopped Detecting One Particular Wifi

Hi All,

My HP V3000 laptop connects automatically to my home wifi network.

All of a sudden today, it's not even detecting this particular wifi signal. It shows me all others in range.

My other laptop is able to detect and connect to my home wifi.

Tried googling but couldn't resolve.
Could someone please help me?

First thing, what do you expect when you buy a RM299 worth watch?
Water proof is a fundamental thing that any watch above RM50 / 100 will definitely offer.

On the day I received the watch, wore it and by evening, there's water ingress in the watch, probably due to hand washes. Water droplets formed in it.

P/S: The back of the watch reads "Stainless Steel Back Water Resistant".

Disappointed, I communicated with the dealer and Groupon.

Both parties have washed hands saying that the deal didn't state that the watch is 'water proof'.
I thought to myself why don't these people send me the watch without a dial or crown and tell me that 'oh that was not stated in the deal'?

The deal stated 'splash resistant' and any reasonable person will understand that there'll not be water ingress unless maybe if you go diving a few meters deep or etc. What more for a RM299 watch?

To add to this, I did some research on the net just to find some other dealers selling this same bloody watch for RM43.

Hi people,

I’ve searched thru the forum but I wasn’t able to find an answer, hence would like to ask here.

I’ve met with an accident last week. I hit the other car in front of me.

My car: Proton Satria 1.3 SE (2005)
Insurance: Multipurpose

Question:

If I were to give my car to Proton for the repairs, for sure all parts replaced are going to be original. My bumper has to be changed. Let’s say Proton’s original bumper is RM200. But I intend to buy my own preferred bumper and bring it over to Proton and ask them to fix it. Is that possible? Can I claim the RM200 back since I’m entitled for that amount and I didn’t buy the bumper from them?

Your advises / suggestions are very much appreciated.

I’ve inquired at some workshops. Each of them is giving me their own versions of story. One said that all parts to be fixed in my car has to be either 2nd hand / Taiwan made, since my car is more than 5 years old.

Another workshop said that can change all parts to original, but I’ve to pay ‘betterment’ of 20%. Meaning, say if original bumper is RM200, insurance company will only pay me RM160. I’ve to fork out RM40. This applies also for all other parts that I’m going to change.

I’m also a little sceptical with the workshops as I don’t know how to ascertain if the parts replaced are actually original or not. I asked if they’ll provide me a bill with the list of parts changed, they said ‘no’.

I'm intending to get GAB Height Adjustables for my Satria 1.3..

I've heard that its too stiff.

Do you have any suggestions on what spring rate to pick / or any other spec to look into so that I'll pick the right settings to ensure that the ride is more towards the comfort side?

I have a Satria 1.3 2005. Would like to now change to adjustable hi/low. Which brand would you recommend?
Some people claim that certain brands are terrible as its too stiff.

If you drive a lowered Satria, what's your comments on your adjustables? What brand would you suggest?

Repairing original proton car alarm

Hi people,

My Proton Satria has the key with the alarm remote buttons built in it. Meaning its just a bigger piece with the key and alarm remote buttons all together as one.

Now when I wish to repair or change the alarm system, the accessory guy tells me that I'll have to carry a new gadget which has the 'arm/disarm' buttons, as the set of new alarm system comes with its own remote. Feels a bit inconvenient to me.

Is there anyway for me to repair or change my alarm system but at the same time retain my existing remote which is built in to the key (original that comes when you purchase the car) ?

Error 7: HASP HL Key not Found

I just installed a modeling software called CAESAR and upon installing, I'm supposed to click LND Emulator Utility.exe and click install after that. After restarting however, I'm unable to run the software.

This thing pops up:

Error 7: HASP HL key not found or NetHL licenses all in use.

Anybody knows how to troubleshoot this?

car back tire jammed

My friend has a old car which he seldom used. Lately when he wanted to drive it, one of the back tire seemed to be jammed and doesn't spin although the accelerator is pressed. Hence the car cant move. It holds the car from moving forward.

Any idea what could have caused this?

At least, we'll have some insight before going to the workshop..

so, for Volk Racing TE37 rims, do rims with PCD100 and offset around +22 exist?

coz, most of the time I can only find TE37 with PCD 100 but offset will be around +30.

So would like to ask if there are those with offset +22 and PCD 100.

Proton Wira Aeroback

The air cond is cold at night. But during the day, while driving, the air cond is cold temporarily and blows hot air after a while. Then cold again and this thing repeats on and on, no matter if the car is moving or idle.

Any idea what could have gone wrong?

how to switch off Vios alarm?

Here's the situation. I kinda locked my Vios with the normal alarm button which is attached with my keys. But later when I came back, I'm unable to unlock my car. The 'car lock/unlock button thing' that is attached to my key doesn't seem to function. So, I had to put the key and open the door manually. And there went the alarm.

I couldn't find any alarm deactivating button in the car, neither could I start the car engine. I know that Proton cars have a button inside. You just have to put in your car key, turn it on, and press the button and the alarm goes off.

Any idea on how do I solve this problem with Vios?

mkv and rmvb files do not play smoothly

Some of the movies that I have are of high quality. But when I play them in VLC/Media Player Classic/Windows Media Player, it doesn't seem to be smooth. There are pauses in between. Gives me a headache watching it.
Any idea why is it so?
