I remember when I was young and started to learn swimming, the swimming attire is strictly no shirt for males and we need to shower before we enter the water.

I notice lately there are more guys swimming with their shirts on - not the fabric suit the divers wear but normal T-shirt. It strikes me as odd because a normal T-shirt is heavy and it will exert drag on the swimmers, and it is usually not allowed in swimming pool. Of course there is safety issue with unsuitable fabric soaked with water.

Are guys becoming uncomfortable going shirtless even in the swimming pool nowadays?

BBC Bittorrent users monitored

A Birmingham University study indicates that an illegal file-sharer downloading popular content would be logged by a monitoring firm within three hours.

The team said it was "surprised" by the scale of the monitoring.

Copyright holders could use the data to crack down on illegal downloads.

The three-year research was carried out by a team of computer scientists who developed software that acted like a BitTorrent file-sharing client and logged all the connections made to it.

BitTorrent is a method of obtaining files by downloading from many users at the same time.

The logs revealed that monitoring did not distinguish between hardcore illegal downloaders and those new to it.

"You don't have to be a mass downloader. Someone who downloads a single movie will be logged as well," said Dr Tom Chothia, who led the research.

"If the content was in the top 100 it was monitored within hours," he said. "Someone will notice and it will be recorded."

Less popular content was also monitored although less frequently, the study indicated.

Hi all,

Which is better for general purpose usage and to play some older games like Dota, Baldur's gate, surfing ? I am looking for a low powered system, hence integrated GPU.

CORE I3 3225(2C/4T) HD 4000
A8-3870 (4C/HD6550D)

I read some online reviews and I understand that Core i3 3225 has a more efficient CPU but its graphics is slower than A8.

I checked the pricing - it's almost the same for both of the processor.

Any recommendation?

Budget about 1200 (without LCD).

An old friend but she shows interest

caught up with a schoolmate about 6 months ago in facebook, she added me.

it was cordial, asking about jobs life etc. So from time to time, chat over facebook. She said she wanted to meet me after 15 years never see me, so I met up with her during CNY. Talked about school , how our friends have changed etc.

That's it. She invited me to go to her religious charity function which I declined initially but accepted later when I got time to go. In my mind it was solely for charity purpose only. At the end, I didn't go because got something urgent and I apologized.

Then few weeks ago things got a bit weird, she started to cyber-stalked me in facebook, running through my pictures, added comments here and there.

Then something happened that made me upset, she told me few days ago that I shouldn't go out with certain people. It freaked me out , so I put her on cold storage in facebook, banning her from posting comments or viewing my pictures.

She kept posting in chat, and today just called me to talk which I told her I wasn't free.

How I do tell her without hurting her that I am not interested in her, and I see her only as my friend? and i want her to stop stalking me.

advice please.

Planet Venus is set to move across the face of the Sun as viewed from Earth.

The more than six-and-a-half-hour transit, which starts just after 22:00 GMT (23:00 BST) on Tuesday is a very rare astronomical phenomenon that will not be witnessed again until 2117.

Observers will position themselves in northwest America, the Pacific, and East Asia to catch the whole event.

But some part of the spectacle will be visible across a much broader swathe of Earth's surface, weather permitting.

I heard it's cheaper to withdraw foreign currency from foreign ATM machines using our own local Maybank ATM card , than to obtain the foreign currency through money changer in Malaysia.
