Sony HT-SF470...a good purchase or not?

Hey guys / friends,

I have these devices at disposal:-

(i) HDTV - Sony KLV-55EX500-Link
(ii) PS3 - 320GB
(iii)Astro B-Yond Box
(iv)WDTV Live Hub

So if..let say I buy this Sony HT-SF470, will it solve my problem of getting 5.1 surround sound?

From what I understand...there is no need for digital coax or toslink, right? Just thru HDMI...will achieve full surround.

What will the connection look like?

And, is there any price update on this model?

CONNECTIVITY: HDTV, B-YOND, DVD HT, WDTV & PS3

Hi to all sifus,

Need your urgent help on connectivity problem. Currently, I have these devices:-

HDTV - Sony KLV-55EX500 - Link
DVD HT System - Sony DAV-FXG99K - Link
Sony PS3 - 320GB
Astro B-Yond
WDTV Live Hub - Link

And, I have these connections set up:-

DVD HT-------HDMI-------->HDTV

PS3----------HDMI-------->HDTV
PS3----------Optical-------->DVD HT

B-YOND-----HDMI-------->HDTV
B-YOND----------Coaxial-------->DVD HT

WDTV-----HDMI-------->HDTV

My problems:
(i) Cannot hear sound from DVD HT when using PS3
(i) Cannot hear sound from DVD HT when using WDTV

Hopefully sifus here can teach me how to make proper connections so that the above problem can be solved.

Hi all.....I recently purchased some new equipments and upgraded to B-yond ......but stuck up on the connections . Need sifus help (as I'm a kind of newbie in this area) regarding connection for these equipments:

(i) HDTV - Sony KLV-55EX500 - Link
(ii) BD Home Theatre System - Sony BDV-E370 - Link
(iii) PS3 - 250GB
(iv) Astro B-Yond

For info, I have these connections:

BD HT-------HDMI-------->HDTV

PS3----------HDMI-------->HDTV

B-YOND-----HDMI-------->HDTV

I have no problem hearing sound from my BD HT during BD playback. But........

Problems:
1. Cannot hear sound from BD HT when using B-Yond
2. Cannot hear sound from BD HT when using PS3

Pls. advise me regarding the additional cable to use.......
