Hiace Campervan Conversion

Hi,

I am planning to buy a hiace van and remove all the seats at the back to make a simple campervan... just bed-seats, some storage and a section to place my bicycles.

I am a cyclist and would like to take off on weekends to cycle at different places or even join some cycling events. Since I will spend most time on my bike, I feel that booking a hotel is useless.

Sample of what I plan to do is as the pictures attached.

I have two questions

a) do I need to get JPJ approval to do this?

b) where can I do this?

Anyone can advise?

Thanks

Please help me understand A2SD

Hi guys,

I am a noob in Android. Just got mine few days back and had rooted it modaco custom rom R2 with A2SD+ (Modaco link)

But the problem that I am facing after the phone being rooted, the installation still goes to the phone instead of the SD.

Can someone help me to explain how to proceed and get the applications to install on SD?

Preferrably without having to go through the whole rooting process again.

Appreciate it.

Thanks.

Help Sony Vaio P13 on Win7

Hi dear sifus,

Appreciate help from you all.

I have a Sony P 13 which I have upgraded to Win7 which runs much faster. But I have problem installing Vaio Utilities after that, utiliies such as Instant mode.

One of the problem, was because i cannot install the location utility program from Vaio. It tells me that the program only works with Windows 7, and I am running windows 7 ultimate.

Another problem, although the programs were downloaded from the Singapore official vaio site, I have menus in Japanese. I have contacted the Vaio web support, but cannot get the right answer.

I really hope that I can get the "instant mode" to work with my p13 again.

So, really appreciate if the sifus here can help.

Thanks.
Hi Sifus,

I am thinking of subscribing to a wireless broadband service where I am staying, but am not sure which service would give the best coverage to my house.

I am planning to rent in Mutiara Condo, Jalan 11, Taman TAR, Ampang.

Can anyone share their experience on using any of the broadband wireless services there? either from Digi, Maxis or Celcom.

Broadband is so important to me, so, I need to confirm this first, before renting the place.

The apartment will be in block 1, 5th floor.

All comments are very much appreciated.

Thanks.

Paying Zakat through Mobile

Hi everyone,

I came across services offered by celcom for the zakat payment through mobile.

I see the links SMS Zakat and its reference page.

When I did a google search, they did all the collaborations with state governments in Melaka, Terengganu and etc.

I am rather intrigue and curious... how well did this do? Anyone has numbers on their collection?

Its interesting to see if technology has now gone to support religious services.

Thanks in advance

Problem/Help : iPhone with Rebel SIM (TurboSIM)

Hi all,

I have a question to those using Rebel SIM or any TurboSIM type solution to unlock their phones.

Do you experience problems receiving calls using Rebel SIM/TurboSIM?

I am using Rebel SIM at the moment for my Iphone 3G and I did not realize it until recently that over the last month, I have not received any calls but been receiving SMSes to say that there were missed calls from many numbers. So, I called myself (I have two phones) and then it realized that it all the calls go to voice mail. Then I tested using the call forwarding function, and guess what? All calls were received at the forwarded number.

This is very weird.

a) I can call out (No problems)
b) I can use data (3G, GPRS and EDGE)
c) SMSes work

But cannot receive calls even when the signal is at full bar.

I am using Maxis with unlimited 3G package. I took out the SIM and it worked fine on my other phone.

Can anyone help me on this?

Appreciate that...

Thanks.

Be careful dealing with iMalaysian

I am not sure if anyone had dealth with Louiss from iMalaysian.com, but my experience with him was not pleasant.

I had my 3G Iphone from Softbank on 2.2.1 and it locked the phone, so I knew that the only way to solve it is to get a turbo-sim until Dev Team breaks the new firmware. I have been to so many websites and forums but there has not been any solution to unlocking a 2.2.1 firmware at the moment.

I googled and found Rebel-Sim on the iMalaysian.com (http://imalaysian.com), and since it was not available yet in this forum, I contacted the guy to meet up to get the SIM off from him. From the call, everything was ok, he said he has available stock. I asked where his place is and he insisted that he could meet me elsewhere and then proposed to meet in Taman Connaught. This got bad when I arrived at Taman Connaught and he switched the meeting venue and led me to his place in Bandar Damai Perdana. He led me to the address over the phone and then when I arrived, I waited for at least 20 minutes in the car. He appeared and asked me to follow him to a cafe along with another customer of his.

At the cafe, he was babbling about how he could crack the firmware 2.2.1, I was not interested, I just wanted to get the Rebel-SIM.. which after another half an hour of babbling, he took out it out and fixed it into my phone. And he kept on fiddling with my phone while he was unpacking a firmware for his other customer who had just wanted to jailbreak his 2.2.1 unlocked phone.

Without doing much but inserting the turbo-SIM into my phone, I insisted that I have to get going and asked how much.... hoping that I could get a bit more discount. But instead, I was told that the charge was RM 250.00. I was surprised, I told him that the price of the Rebel-Sim was posted on his website as RM 149.00... I was furious.. then he told me.. RM 149.00 is only the price for the Rebel-SIM, but since his service was used to install it, the professional fee is now included. Heck.. if you but a RM 30.00 screen protector at any phone shop, the shop person would install it for free and not charge RM 101.00 for that service. I told him that I only brought RM 200.00 and I didn't ask him to install the SIM into my phone, he got mad... I paid him RM 150.00 and waited to see if he is HONORABLE enough to return the RM 1 which does not mean much to me... but he didn't do anything but took the money and kept it in his pocket.

He then asked me if I am interested to get other products from him in the near future and started telling me what he has in stock. But the funny thing is, I have a good memory on the prices of things posted on his website.. when he asked me to look at his other accessories, he MARKED UP EVERYTHING BY MORE THAN RM 50.00. I just kept quiet and just left the place.

Thought I should post this up so that no one will get misled again.. just in case you googled and see this post..

http://imalaysian.com/2009/02/03/repair-ip...ion-221-unlock/

Thanks.
