Aus v US dollar v Ringgit --> Game cards

Hello everyone,

I thought i would share with some of you the benefits of purchasing game cards from Australia. Firstly, i am not biased in anyway to a particular online shop but merely a casual wow player that would like to share ways to cut costs in these times of economic turmoil.

The Aussie dollar has been plummeting against the Ringgit while the US dollar has been strengthening. The savings that people have enjoyed, via credit card subscription through the blizzard website, have eroded. All these have prompted me to think, "why not buy game cards from Australia?"

A quick google search offered many places that sell game cards online ranging from 36-39 aussie. At current exchange rates, that is Aus38 x 2.3 = Rm87.40 compared with Rm115(recommended retail price in Malaysia). That's a saving of Rm27.60!

This is cheaper even when subscribing via credit card! Using 2month as a reference period,
1month US15/mnth x 3.6 = 54 x 2 = Rm108
3month US14/mnth x 3.6 = 50.4 x 2 = Rm100.80
6month US13/mnth x 3.6 = 46.8 x 2 = Rm93.60

Please do note that variables used in the above calculations that will fluctuate on a day to day basis are;
Aussie to Ringgit conversion rate used 2.3 (not so long ago, it was around 3)
US dollar to Ringgit conversion rate used 3.6 (not so long ago, it was around 3.2)

Well anyways, just thought to share the above info with my fellow wow kaki's!

Happy hunting!

Ninjapod from Aman'Thul

ps. i do realise there is a pinned thread regarding game cards but i think it gets glossed over too frequently, but feel free to remove this post and to add it there instead.
