laptop can't connect wifi outside

my laptop is able to connect to my home wifi, works fine.

but whenever i go to ANY public places like McD the other day.. i could detect the wireless network but i cant access it. In another place the other day, it was 'connected with limited access'. it's definitely my laptop problem or maybe some changes need to be made to the settings.

any help would be greatly appreciated

hi everyone. this is what's been happening to my laptop. The attached screenshot will appear every 10 minutes. According to the details, something's to do with the Roxio Shared (???).

Mixed up icons

It seems like some of my icons are mixed up, fortunately my desktop icons are not!

This is when I open a folder.. just look at the folders on the left.. the icons are wrong!

This is the quicklaunch beside the Start button. As you can see when I mouse over my supposedly Firefox icon, it says Windows Media Player.

Problem in starting Mozilla Firefox

I've been encountering this problem for quite a while. Whenever I want to start Mozilla Firefox, this message comes up: Firefox could not install this item because of a failure in Chrome Registration. Please contact the author about this problem.[

After clicking the "OK" button 3 times, then only Firefox comes up. I've reinstalled, even the newest version a few times, but problem still remains.

Anyone who knows how to solve this, please do tell me. Help much appreciated. THANKS.
