[NEED ADVICE] Laptop screen green tint & blackout

Hi,

I have a condition.
In august, my laptop (Dell Inspiron 1420) screen show green vertical line and then blackout. However, it can display by using a projector.
I have sent it to repair and it cost me RM380. The repair shop have replaced a VGA Controller Chip with a 1 month warranty.

Now with less than 1.5 month after the repair. The laptop have the same problem again. Now the repair shop said they will charge me RM280 for the chip without charging the service cost.
I felt cheated that same problem happened just after the 1 month warranty by the repair shop.

I would like to seek your advice for the following questions:

1. Is it normal that the chip spoilt so fast. How much should be the cost?

2. I personally would think getting a new laptop rather than repair it. However, I need to retrive the files in the laptop.
Is it posible to convert the harddisk into an external harddisk so i can use it with another computer?

Would appreciate if you can provide your advice.

i know that MNC stands for multi national company...

but i wonder how MNC are?

i saw a few companies called themseleves MNC bcos they have one o two small branches in indonesia or thailand.. are they really consider as MNC aso?
