Laptop lagging

hey guys...i need help with this cause i cant seem to find any solutions googling my problem.
my laptop has started lagging since 5 days ago. it startsup alright and smooth and will only start to lag after 5-6 hours of operation. the thing about the lag is....it isnt a normal kind of lag u get on comps. when my comp starts to lag, the lag affects mainly my web browser and msn. i can barely type on msn because of the lag which is super annoying. when the lag starts, my comp cpu usage and physcal memory are only 20% and 50% respectively which i think is how it always was normally. btw...i'm using a dell studio xps 16
