http://forum.lowyat.net/ Wed, 08 Jul 2026 12:28:59 +0800 FeedCreator 1.7.2 http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/544129 Torino Motor enters high gear with 2 new Fiat cars<br /><br />Kuala Lumpur,25 Oct 2007- TORINO Motor Industries (M) Sdn Bhd has unveiled two new Fiat cars and will introduce another new model by the first quarter of 2008 to rejuvenate itself after two years without any launches.<br /><br />The company launched Fiat Bravo GT and Fiat Grande Punto automatic yesterday, hoping that the former car will become its next flagship model to replicate the success of the old Punto.<br /><br />&quot;We used to sell about 1,000 units of the old Fiat Punto annually,&quot; Torino Motor chief executive officer Ally Azran Abdul Hamid told reporters.<br /><br />By end of this year, sales of at least 200 units of the Bravo GT are expected. We plan to introduce the automatic version (of the Bravo) by the year-end.&quot; The company also wanted to introduce the turbo version of Grande Punto in 2008, he added.<br /><br />The Grande Punto automatic, meanwhile, is expected to generate sales of 300 to 500 units next year.<br /><br />&quot;After the automatic version of the Bravo by year-end, we plan to introduce Fiat 500, hopefully by March 2008,&quot; Ally Azran said.<br /><br />The 1.4-litre Fiat 500 should cost around RM120,000, meaning it is sandwiched between the price of the Bravo GT and Grande Punto.<br /><br />The Bravo GT sells at RM135,000 without insurance, while the Grande Punto costs about RM108,320 excluding insurance. Both the models boast 1.4-litre engines.<br /><br />Ally Azran said the Bravo was launched in its home country in Italy about six months ago and has become one of the best-selling models in its class with some 80,000 units sold so far.
