[WTS] Ibanez RG770

Guitar Brand: Ibanez RG770 MIJ
Condition: 6-7/10 (Relative really)
Owned For: 8+ years

Brief Description of the item on sale:

The Ibanez RG770 is an RG series electric guitar model, introduced in 1990 as part of the Roadstar series. It is similar to the RG570 introduced a year earlier, but features DiMarzio made IBZ/USA pickups, a bound rosewood fingerboard and sharktooth inlays.

During its production run, a couple of changes were made to the RG770. In 1991, the mid pickup was changed and in 1992 the model was updated with the Lo Pro Edge tremolo and direct mount pickups.

For the Japanese market, a model with a special paisley graphic finish was made, known as the RG770 CP-P. In catalogs, this model was shown with the somewhat different Cutaway Heel neck joint. A similar finish was available for the RG760.

The RG770 was discontinued after 1993. In 1994, a similar model with gold hardware was introduced as the RG770G as one of the last models of the RG700 subseries. A lot of recent models such as the RG2570Z are still based on the RG770 setup.

Source: http://ibanez.wikia.com/wiki/RG770

Matters to Highlight:

- When I first bought the guitar off another individual (The above is third hand, in which I bought it off the previous owner for a price of approx. RM2k back 8 years ago)

The Executive Pitch

Good Day Folks,

After deliberating on this matter for quite awhile, I have finally decided to let go of my prized vintage Ibanez RG770 (MIJ). Reason being is simple - I've 3 other guitars and due to work commitments (and procastination), I've neglected all of my guitars (save for a PGM301, which is still my main axe when I jam or whatnot). Even then, TLC for my PGM301 is lacklustre and laughable.

Hence, I have decided to rationalise my guitar collection (am still deliberating on the next guitar to put up for sale) in view of the above.

Little bit of history on the RG770:

It used to be my primary axe for at least 3+ years prior to buying a KH-2, in which the floyd rose and the action was brilliant throughout! I could lower the action so low with minimum buzz and shred all around the keyboard with ease. The floyd rose too was excellent at keeping the guitar in tune at that time. Since then however, it has been deprived of the TLC that a guitar deserves but despite that, I always had a soft spot for it and do my utter best to maintain it with my limited student budget back then.

Not to forget that I installed an EMG81 active pickup to brighten up the attack of the bridge pickup to satisfy my inner metalhead, which didnt work out too well in the end as time passed by and my taste of music mellowed.

So without rambling too much about its past, I thought this guitar deserves a better owner to provide it the TLC it needs. I'm pretty confident that once the guitar has been setup properly and with the intonation in place, this guitar would scream all over again!

Photos of the guitar are attached.

I will let this baby go at a price of RM900 and will throw in a soft case for the guitar as well. Unfortunately, the hard case is long gone as the clips broke (thanks to an idiot who tried stealing my guitar many years ago).

Only seriously interested buyers. PM me for further details.

[attachmentid=4007590]
[attachmentid=4007591]
[attachmentid=4007593]
[attachmentid=4007595]

Few additional points to note:

(1) There's a fine crack near the neck in the last photo - Doesn't seem to harm the intonation much and the playability of the guitar last I checked;

(2) I'm selling the guitar as per the pictures attached. I would love to help the new owner restring it and set up the intonation, but my busy work schedule doesn't really give me the luxury of time these days;

(3) Note that the cover for the guitar behind (I don't have a pic but if there's a request I would gladly share it with you) broke and has been without it since 5+ years ago.

(4) The neck is SUPER THIN in my opinion. However, its not an AANJ neck as one may think. Its a Wizard neck, which means that the neck may be abit too thick (it was thick for me) for some.

(5) The tremolo bar for the floyd rose is missing. However, that can be easily replicated / bought at guitar shops from what I understand.

Points (1) and (5) just illustrates how much I've neglected this guitar. Hence, the decision to sell it off to someone else who would make better use of it and provide TLC.

Masters In Finance

Hey peeps! howdy do over there. Im currently a 3rd year student in The University Of Queensland(graduating this sem) with my major being Finance. The thing is though, I feel like i've not done enough of finance and would like to further my studies in the finance field. I was thinking of UNSW as I heard that the masters is of good standards( through word of mouth, that is.) but i would not like to rush my decision at the same time. With that said, does anyone know a good place to do Masters in Finance? Preferably Australia, but UK's good as well. I would like to hear opinions of others, and not simple minded "Do in UNSW or Melbourne cause it's good and its the best!". Cheers.

hey there folks! Beforehand i would just like to apologize if the opening of a new topic such as this is not necessary Having said that, let the debate begin!

These 3 particular phones have caught my attention lately(i was never a phone freak to start, but its about time i change my phone.) with these 3 being in my budget of around..1k-1.3k? Im not exactly sure about their "original" price and when i mean original i mean the prices set at their respective brand retailers. Anyhowz, when it comes to music, i've already an ipod so basically any recommendation on w810i being the better phone due to music is out. Im just curious as to whether the camera's on these 3 phones differ from one another and if so, by how much?(i know its hard to quantify qualitative factors such as these, but just a simple description would do). Also, hows the video recording for these 3? I've went through an extensive research around the net and i still couldnt come up with a reasonable conclusion.

Anyhowz, some help over here guys? Many Thanks in advance.

External Hard Disk has a virus in it.

Hey guys, firstly let me apologize if this topic has been posted before in the forum or that a topic with a similar or identical problem as of above has been discussed before. I am using Windows XP (SP2), Intel Centrino Dual core laptop(i dunno if this would help, so kindly inform me if theres any other information that i need to provide for further investigation). I have just recently purchased a new external harddisk from lowyat (80GB Toshiba) and my friend borrowed my harddisk to backup his files as he wanted to reformat his computer. When i got back the hard disk, the moment i plug in the hard disk into my laptop, my antivirus software would automatically detect a virus, which is located in the F:(which is the directory of the external hard disk). When i try to delete or amend the problem, it always fails as my antivirus softwares says that it cant access the files. Now the question is, how am i supposed to destroy the virus in the hard disk, when i cant access it? Oh btw im using Norton(symantec i think) antivirus and AVG7.1 as well. I know its not good to have 2 at once, but i had to do so in order to delete this virus but to no avail.

I would be grateful if anyone could help me solve the problem.Thanks in advance.

Oh btw, now i dont even need to plug in the hd. My antivirus software still detects it even though its detached! Name of virus : W32.Jeefo

Possibly the brontok virus, but im not sure cos after using the brontok virus removal software, it still appears.
