hi all.

my monthly income is basic + allowance.

how to nego salary when jump to new company? because I think other company won't take allowance as our income, so they just based on basic salary.

now 3k, if jump but also get 3k, better not jump.. but I'm so stressed..

guys, usually when you wanna do renovation, and got neighbors beside your house, do you ask permission from them? or inform them? for eg, want to remove the steel gate (porch)? the steel gate is the divider between house A and house B.

A disgruntled passenger on a budget airline has penned a hilarious and sarcastic letter to the person sitting behind her on a flight from Singapore to Sydney.

Lau Munyee, who is based in Malaysia, shared the note on social media about the flight she took on April 12 while sitting in seat 14A.

She describes the fellow traveller sitting behind her in seat 15A on the AirAsia flight as a loud-mouthed, snack-guzzling passenger who had feet that smelt like 'death and decay'.

She claims the woman took off her shoes and stuck her feet, which she described as smelling of 'death and decay', in between her seat and the window

Ms Lau, 24, also said the woman gave her a full back massage by 'repeatedly kicking the back of chair'.

'To date, I have yet to regain full mobility of the lower half of my body. But since I am single, I suppose I don't have much use for it anyway,' the writer, who runs blog iammunyee.com, quipped in the letter.

She went on to say: 'I did not pay for the in-flight entertainment package and I was worried that I might get bored. But my concerns were unnecessary.

'You were talking so loudly, as if your friend was seated in the cargo hold rather than right next to you.'

She penned the open letter while on the April 12 flight on a motion sickness bag

Ms Lau is a freelance writer based in Malaysia and was on her way to Sydney for a holiday.

The incident had caused Ms Lau so much distress that she could not wait to get off the plane to write the open letter.

'I flew Air Asia, and paid about MYR 1800 [AU$ 640] for a round trip. The flight was at midnight. I was travelling for a holiday,' she told Daily Mail Australia.

'I wrote the letter on the motion sickness bag because I couldn't sleep a wink throughout the entire flight and had to find a means of distracting myself from the smell - short of jumping off the plane.'

A devoted Chinese father is desperately trying to raise money to pay his son's huge medical bills by dressing up a horse and begging people to ride him.

Chen Yuntao, 38, wears a horse mask as he kneels on the busy streets of Hefei City, next to a sign asking for 'kind-hearted' people to get on his back for a ride for five yuan – the equivalent of 54p.

The unusual fundraising is part of a desperate bid to raise money for his nine-year-old son Chen Minghao, who is suffering from leukaemia.

The family is 160,000 yuan (£17,500) in debt for treatment he has already received, having already spent 200,000 yuan (£21,800) on medical bills, The People's Daily Online reports.

The next course of therapy will cost between 400,000 and 500,000 yuan (£43,600 to £54,600).

After Mr Chen first starting begging at the entrance of a subway the city management turned up within minutes to move him along – but when they learnt about his heart-breaking situation, they offered to help find him a better spot.

'I saw others raising funds in the street using a sign so I gave it a try', the 38-year-old said.

'If it wasn't the very last resort I would never have thought I would be begging on the street.

'Yesterday my son just completed the current stage of his chemotherapy and the doctors say that as soon as the boy is physically ready he can proceed to the next stage of treatment which I have no money for.'

'In the village I saw children paying to ride on horses so I thought I could pretend to be a horse and offer rides to raise money for my son. For my son I will gladly do anything.'

Minghao was first diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in December 2011.

After 20 courses of chemotherapy he was finally able to leave hospital in 2013 – but during a routine check-up in March the family was told his cancer had returned.

As yet no-one has ridden Mr Chen, but many passers-by have donated money to him.

Dr Xu, who is looking after Minghao, said in all the years the family had been in hospital he had never seen the father wear new clothes or bring the child in food.

'I know they are very poor but I didn't know that they were in such poverty', he said.

'To know Mr Chen is begging on the street in order to raise funds for his child is really sad and upsetting.'

Nine-year-old Minghao said: 'The needles are not painful anymore. I hope to recover soon so that I can go back to school.'

The family will qualify for seriously illness release on the next course of treatment, meaning they will have a 90 per cent reimbursement.

However, Mr Chen will still need to find another 50,000 Yuan (£5,500) plus ongoing post-treatment medical expenses if Minghao begins to recover.

MP salary increased

The Dewan Rakyat passed the Members of Parliament (Renumeration) (Amendment) Bill 2014 early this morning, giving themselves a pay raise of RM4,500.

According to a report by Bernama, the bill to hike the salaries and allowances of members of Parliament was deferred to the current sitting of Parliament from the previous.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim, when tabling the bill for second reading, said the amendments were made due to current factors which were challenging to the members of Parliament.

"In addition, the duty of the members of Parliament is getting heavier in carrying out the high hopes of the people, and this will boost the spirit of the elected representatives to work with more commitment and dedication," he said.

The bill provides for the monthly salary of a member of Parliament to be raised to RM16,000 from RM11,500, members of the Dewan Negara from RM7,000 to RM11,000, Dewan Rakyat Deputy Speaker and Dewan Negara Deputy president from RM16,000 to RM22,000 and Dewan Rakyat Speaker and Dewan Negara president from RM20,000 to RM31,000.

Currently, members of Parliament receive a basic pay of RM6,508.59 a month besides a monthly allowance of RM5,000 for entertainment, driver's pay, travel and handphone bill.

They are also paid a meeting allowance of RM200 a day when attending Parliamentary sittings and a daily allowance of RM150 to attend meetings with government agencies.

On November 27 last year, the Dewan postponed the bill after no agreement was achieved on the matters discussed. – Bernama, April 10, 2015.

hi guys,

in a few weeks, I'll be riding my bicycle to KTM station.

the reason is financial problems. a lot of expenditures that I have to cut.

the bike is mountain bike (second hand).

if walking, it take around 40 minutes. if cycling, around 20 minutes.

the traffic is quite heavy actually, and I have to go through roundabouts and traffic light/junction.

should I wear a helmet like this for safety purposes? or is it too flashy?

as per lelong, price varies from RM10 - RM200.

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 28:

Coke Zero, an alternative to the popular Coca-Cola drink but with zero calories and zero sugar, was officially launched in Malaysia today.
Previously available only in premium supermarkets like Cold Storage, Coke Zero will now be produced locally in Coca-Cola Malaysia’s factory in Bandar Enstek and be distributed widely in the country.

Malaysia-Singapore-Brunei region general manager Gill McLaren said: “We think Malaysia is ready for this now. you’ll find this in more places.
“Coke Light is a great tasting product but its got more of a specific target consumer which probably leans to a more female and expatriate market whilst Coke Zero taste more like Coke so it has a more broader appeal.”

McLaren added that the beverage company is currently working on Coke Zero to be available in fast food outlets which already offer Coke and Coke Light.
“It doesn’t replace Coke Light as that taste is quite different, Coke Light has a lighter taste but that was an innovation done a longer time ago, 25 years to be exact.
“This is the closest we can get to Coke whilst not being Coke. Some people are really loyal to Coke Light and they stay loyal to it, for anyone who tries Coke Zero, they will find this a good alternative to Coke.”

McLaren said that based on market research conducted in Malaysia, consumers here were initially sceptical about the taste of Coke Zero.
But when they were told it had zero calories and sugar, many were surprised at the similarities of the taste and provided a positive feedback – which pushed for the introduction of the product here.

She also said Coca-Cola has plans in the pipeline this year for more new products.
“We’re increasing our portfolio here in Malaysia, Fanta is only a three-year-old brand here. We’ve got Sprite, A&W as well as Heaven and Earth Tea which is already a really successful brand. Its part of our global commitment to provide more choices.”

Coke Zero was first introduced in Australia in 2005 and was very successful there. Currently, Coke Zero is available in over 149 countries making Malaysia the 150th country to receive the product.

The implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) on Apr 1 will not affect Coca-Cola sales in Malaysia, said McLaren.
“No, I don’t think the GST will affect our sales and we are prepared for its implementation. The tax system has been adopted by many countries and Malaysia is just following suit.”

starting next year, I have to cut most of my expenses. it's been a rough year for me this year, have to help my family financially.

cannot afford to buy a sedan car. old car loan already finish, still got PTPTN and some credit card debts.

still failed to get new job. while everyone is 20k per month, I earned super duper less than that and failed quite a number of job interviews this year. applied BR1M already.

no more competitive running. have to do OT everyday if can.

last september, I went for an interview, and failed.

last wednesday, the company call me again, and ask me to come to interview, for the same position.

assumption made:
-the position is very pressure, people come and go
-they lost my data during first interview, they forgot they called me before
-HR seems desperate, short notice interview

any opinions guys?

inb4 my salary 1/10 of /k/ standard. just for info, I double up my salary for the position, and they still call me.

got one fren, signed offer letter already (to other company, few month notice), later after one month, bos counter offer, and he accept. now salary almost 1k more than me. ayam so butthurt, we are in the same batch, salary oso the same when we joined, but now his salary is bigger than me. we both target for the managerial post, but looking from our salary now, sure he'll get there first.

how to improve myself?
