I have a friend who has his pc locked out from ransomware. Not sure which ransomware is this, seems like locky.

Anyone know how to get rid of this? or recover files from this without paying. Thanks.

I am using a Seagate HDD since last year for my storage drive. Just a couple days ago, the HDD causing extremely long boot up and the PC is performing normal once the HDD is unplugged (SSD as primary storage/boot up drive). The HDD took extremely long to be recognised by the window acting as hot swap drive. It is more frustrating to copy the files from the drive, 0KB/s transfer rate most of the time. In the end, I just backup small and important files.

I have tried formatting the drive, tried diagnose with seagate tool, chkdsk fix. All the result return OK and the drive still not performing normal.

Other HDD is performing normal plugged in the similar SATA cable and port. Anyone know a fix to this before I request a RMA? or this is a sign the drive is almost at the end of its life.

*** Report on unworkable certain batch of RCM i sent out with slightly larger wire gauge than I used, however it works on my switch probably due to enlarged rails (used a lot sorry.) Cut the wire shorter by ~1mm from the front and lift the wire slightly. Sorry for the inconvenient caused. You can still use normal paper clip with it. Thanks The newer batch will be sent with new wire and tested with new switch.***

The left is compatible with the pin bridge from micro usb. (the pin is not included) Remove all but pins 1 and 4 and short them on the back. More info Here.

Right is simpler. You just need slide in the both ends of wire into the hole. 0.4 mm is fine.
Only 1 colour (white) is available by far.

I will send the wire version by default. The jig is made to order basis.
