Broadband provider
ISP/package: Streamyx 1Mbps
Location: Penang
Have you called your ISP's helpline?: Nope

Personal equipment
Modem: D-link DSL-2542B
Router: Same as above
Firewall used: dunno

Hi guys, I coudn't connect this modem router to streamyx. I tried the quick connect cd, choose PPPoE from the drag down list, and entered my username and password, it took some time, the DSL light was stable, but it just couldnt connect. Anything I missed? Or do I need to manually set it all in at 192.168.1.1?

Ways to reclaim bandwidth from housemate's BT?

Hi there. In the recent days I realized that my connection was significantly slow. Upon checking my router logs, I assume that one of my housemate (which I'm not exactly friendly with) and his girlfriend has been downloading heavily via BT. The problem with it is they do it night and day. The rest of the house doesn't use BT, and for most of the time we need the bandwidth for assignments and work. Apart from sinisterly hoping that their laptops smoke up in flames, there's really nothing I could think of doing, since from past experiences I know how stubborn they were. So is there any way to reclaim some bandwidth?
