I do not own a lot of games. (I trade a lot) But I found myself in a bit of a financial problem lately so need to let this go.

Is this a Vista problem or a virus/spyware problem

1. Desktop icon mysteriously disappeared. Had to right click -> View, 'Show desktop icons' was ticked, but I had to untick it and tick again then only the icons show.

2. Laptop been lagging badly, very sudden. My laptop used to be very smooth a couple days ago, can run Sims 3 in windowed mode and surf at the same time.

3. Presentation mode turning itself on. This is not a work laptop, so I never turn it on. Didn't even know it existed until the problem started.

4. When I turn off the presentation mode via presentation settings -> unticking the "I am doing a presentation" my desktop wallpaper disappeared.

I ran ad-aware yesterday, cleaned up some junks. But I did not run a virus scan because it always hang/got stuck halfway.
Is this just a stupid Vista glitch or is it something foreign in my laptop?

Doesn't mean I want to switch to P1 wimax. I heard a lot of horror stories about it.

Problem:
Am currently so so so so SOOOOO MAD at TM right now, I want to blow up their office!! I haven't had home connection for a full 12 days now, because I think my phone line got struck my lightning, even the telephone oso no tone. I reported my phone line's problem last monday, (25th Oct) they say give them 48 hours to send over technician, so I say ok I wait. 72 hours pass, no sign of anyone yet, so I called on 28th (Thurs) to complain again. 29th they did send over a technician, but the stupid technician named Zahari didn't call before he come. My family thought at 2pm no one is gonna come oredi, so they went out to Giant to do grocery shopping, Zahari came at 3pm. Fine, he left note asking us to arrange appointment again. We called, arranged on 2nd Nov (Mon) 11am he will come. HE MISSED HIS f***ING APPOINTMENT!!! So my dad called him again, he say he will come later on same day, still didn't show up. So that night I called TM again told them I want another technician, I don't want this jerk. They say okay they will arrange another technician to come on 3rd Nov (Tues) at 12pm. Again no one showed up. So I called on Tues night, they say same thing, will ask technician to come on 4th Nov (Wed) 12pm, as always, didn't show up as well. Rinse and repeat for Wed night and Thurs noon. Finally my dad kenot tahan, he personally go to their office to complain. They promise him will send someone over today 6th Nov, Friday. Now is nearly 4pm, I dun think anyone will come oredi.

Their service is too terrible, so I wanna switch. Even if the home phone kenot change provider, at least net provider can change.

Am actually looking more at DiGi or Celcom broadband. I don't really download a lot of things, just the occasional movies here and there. (average one movie per month?) I do however play World of Warcraft, although I don't play too much. (maybe at most 2 days per week) So am thinking if any of you guys can recommend me which is better? DiGi or Celcom? And which plans? I see alot of P1 and Streamyx 'reviews' around here, but not much of DiGi, Celcom or Maxis.

I would get Jaring but my area is not covered. -__-

What the hell is wrong?!

I use a laptop, and last week I still had a wireless router, until lightning KO-ed it.
So currently I'm running on one of my old Aztech modems, cable connecting to my laptop instead of using wireless.
Until last Monday it was still fine and dandy, then Monday night my connection just died.
Only PWR and ETH/ACT lights are on, DSL light keep blinking and dying.
I'm very patient, I thought Streamyx is just having one of their hiccups so I waited a few days to see if it'll return to normal.
Sadly it didn't.
So I called Streamyx and they enlightened me about the cable issue.
My house have 2 cable port, one downstairs one upstairs outside my room.
The downstairs port is connected to the house phone and modem using a splitter.
I direct connect instead and wah-lah! Modem 4 lights on again, happy customer. Although my house phone is dead.

However today, I cannot connect again. I change to connect to upstairs port instead, still cannot.
Changed the cable entirely also cannot. Finally after a few experiment on cable combinations all 4 lights finally lit up again.
Took me an hour of messing around to get a connection -___-

I'm now still connected to the internet, modem is working, however my connection is slower than usual.
I was playing online game just now, latency was really really high and keep lagging although I'm using a tunnel service.
Then now cannot connect to the tunnel service at all -__-

So what do you think? Is it Streamyx's problem now? Or is my cable's problem?
I have 2 sets of long cables and 3 sets of short cables, tried a combination of everything already.
Takkan all cables also broken??!
