Compact Camera or DSLR?

I want to buy new camera that able to capture in low light. I do mostly landscape, potrait and macro (I took a lot of picture for my jewelry creation).

Right now, I'm using Olympus FE-4010. It is good camera but I still have problem to capture my jewelry especially if I took picture with crystal. So I try to avoid flash. I can't afford to have a lot of lights for photo light tent because I live in apartment and my living room is not so big to set up a lot of light. The natural light from balcony is ok but you know lah now weather can be sunny in a minute and raining in next hour.

So my budget is RM2k. I have browse around, I know Canon Powershot SX40 can take picture in low light but I know...if i top-up few RM100-RM300, I can get DSLR. So here is my dilema comes. Should I get Canon Powershot SX40 or DSLR camera? I need camera for long run.

If I choose DSLR camera, I know Canon 1100D, Sony A390L & Nikon D3100 should be able to fit in my budget. I'm totally newbie when it comes to DSLR, I need advice which camera to choose.

Just an idea what kind of picture I'll be taking. . I'm using the normal Super-Fine option from my Olympus FE-4010 without any flash in my make shift photo light tent.

Problem with DLink ADSL Router

I just moved to new house and my Streamyx line has beed activated 2 days ago. I transfered my phone line from my old house to this house (I didn't chaneg my number since the houses just 2-3km away. In old house, I used my D-Link ADSL Router(DSL-2640T) which workinig perfect as normal since I have a pc and laptop to connect to the internet.

In new house...something funny. I didn't change any setting on my DLink. Well I can see all the LED indicator are working fine (ADSL, Power, WLAN LED don't blink) When I start to browse even just TM Net website..the ADSL LED will blink and off for awhile and ok again after I close my browser. I already called Streamyx via their 1300 number they also puzzle.

Then I try using the dial-up (no router) with Aztech ADSL modem (the one you get from Streamyx when you register)....the line is working perfect without any line dropping.

OK i can sense there's problem with my DLink. Is Dlink all like that after not using for awhile (btw my DLink is less than 1yr old)? Is there any configuration that I need to set or use to solve the problem.

If DLink is no-go to use, what is a suitable/best ADSL Modem/Router that can use for wireless in the market. I don't want anything too expensive.
