HSBB will drive HDTV

KUALA LUMPUR: High Speed Broadband (HSBB) service providers, rather than satellite TV providers, will drive the local uptake of high-definition TV (HDTV), according to technology solutions provider Motorola.

HDTV is a digital television broadcasting standard which has superior resolution and sound, when compared to traditional television systems. HDTV boasts a picture quality of 1080p, compared to 720p on traditional TV.

Floyd Wagoner, director of global product marketing for Motorola access network solutions, said that once the 10Mbps high speed broadband pipes are turned on, there would a rush for it as HDTV content was available on the Web.

“Getting content will not be an issue, we’ll be flooded with HDTV content overnight. HDTV is about downloading from places all over the world.”

Wagoner believes that the world is moving fast to HDTV. “Every new TV sold in the United States is a HDTV one. The difference in the quality of HDTV and traditional TV programmes is like night and day,” he said.

Local prices for HDTVs start from RM2,000 onwards.

The Government recently signed an agreement with TM in a public/private partnership to build a RM11.3bil HSBB network in the country. The Government will fork out RM2.4bil for the venture.

TM plans to roll out the service by 2012, offering surfing speeds of 2Mbps to 1Gbps.

HSBB is only for high-density areas. For other areas, broadband will be made available at speeds of up to 10Mbps, it was announced.

and HD programs are not using 1080p... mostly are in 1080i...

4 more years to go... by that time i cant imagine how fast is the internet speed in korea/japan when we are still using 1Gbps ahahahha..

currently im driving my sis car which is a matrix... i nid a new car cuz my sister will be using it.. so ive no car to drive to uni... thx a lot

Ok... this is wat happened...
recently i changed the system locale language to Chinese(PRC) in order to view chinese character for my song names in media player...

all looks fine..
until i start using Live Messenger...
im using Arial Bold
the FONTS LOOKS RETARDED... and im damn pissed wif it, i juz cant stand it..
previously before i change the language, those fonts are smooth, now it became so rough...

when i wanted to find eigenvectors
all i get is complex numbers punya simulteneous equation
cant solve it
