A 42-second video clip of a purported police personnel on a vitriolic rant against loan sharks is making waves on the Internet and instant messaging networks.

The clip features a man in sunglasses and police uniform, bearing the rank of either ASP or chief inspector, warning loan sharks against posting banners advertising their services in his area.

He was depicted holding on to a man clutching a typical money lender banner found on lamp post and trees throughout the country.

"I don't want MCA and DAP complaining to me about 'ah long' stickers (in my area).

"If you have guts, you 'ah long' should come see me. Kita cek chow, kita bertarung (let's have a one-on-one fight).

"If you have a pistol, bring it with you. I know you have pistols bought from Thailand," said the man in the video.

How to reduce energy consumption for

Hi guys.

Any idea on how to reduce energy consumption for commercial refrigerator? I can't force buyer not to open and close as they like.
With incoming hike in electricity tariff, every bit of saving counts.

What I've been doing are:
1. Cleaning the cooling system frequently to avoid collecting dust.
2. different refrigerator for milk based products and normal drinks so that I can shut down it at night.

The Straits Times reported that the dispute began three years ago when a resident, known only as Chua, said he was just looking at the tree when another resident, R. Lim, shouted at him to stay away from "his tree".

He claimed his father planted the tree 20 years ago.

Last week, resident Lily Wee called police after Lim, a businessman in his 50s, shouted expletives at her when she wanted to take a durian.

"There are three kinds of people in this world - the good, the bad and the ugly. He belongs to the last group," said Wee, calling Lim a "durian bully".

Residents would wait under the tree each fruiting season, sometimes for hours, to take the ripened fruits.

"We can always get fruit from Geylang, but we choose to wait here to kio liu lian," said a resident known as Patrick, referring to a Hokkien phrase expressing the thrill of getting free durians.

About 100 durians could be harvested each year from the single tree, which first bore fruit seven years ago.

Frustrated over the fiasco, some residents had asked for the tree to be chopped down, but the Moulmein-Kallang municipal council had let the tree be.

It will, however, put up two notices stating that the neighbourhood trees belong to the Housing Board and are maintained by the town council.

Resident Peter Yang approved of not chopping the tree, and said neighbours had begun to bond as they queued and chatted while waiting for the fruits to fall.

"Despite a little bit of nonsense, you still get some good out of it," he said.

loop of rebootin

Hi.

I assembled a PC last week. it work like a charm and boot perfectly. problem arise when i move it from my house to another house. It boot and reboot again. i tried to fiddle around by pressing the reset cmos button, removing cmos battery and changing the ram slot yet it still keep on rebootin.

Tried changing the ram to the earlier slot,it boot and no display on screen. fiddle with graphic card still the same. tried changing the ram again. it back to loop of rebootin. changed the ram to earliest slo again. it boot to windows and working well.

Today I gatal tangan want to remove it to another position. same thing happened. need to play around all the hardware for an hour for it to boot normally.

I wonder what is wrong with my PC?

spec: I5 2500k
mobo: MSI P67 GD65
Ram: kingston 4GB
GC:sapphire HD 6950
PSU:corsair GS600

hello there.

I'm on my way to ipoh from malacca but when i reached the intersection to ipoh and KL i got stuck in the fast lane. I'm in Tol Duta now because the fast lane lead me to KL. I need to return back to tol Duta but i dont know which road that lead back to it. could u guys provide me with the fastest way to Tol duta again from the Tol itself.

MILF action pleases OIC chief

JEDDAH, July 27 — The Secretary General of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC), Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, has welcomed the decision of the Philippine government to put an end to military operations in Southern Philippines as a prelude to the resumption of peace talks with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).

The MILF has responded positively to the decision by halting its own military operations.

In a press statement issued here, Ihsanoglu expressed his hope that negotiations between the two parties would resume from the point where earlier peace efforts culminated in an effort to preserve and build upon what has been achieved in this respect, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported today.

Ihsanoglu called on both parties to deploy all necessary efforts in a bid to realise security, peace, and development in Southern Philippines.

He also underscored the OIC’s readiness and willingness to make all-out efforts to assist the two parties in moving forward towards achieving peace.

It is worth recalling that the foreign ministers of the OIC Member States expressed during their meeting held in May 2009 in Damascus, Syria, their concern over the deterioration of the situation in Southern Philippines due to military operations and called upon the two parties to resume negotiations. – Bernama
