Help needed : HDD data recovery

Hi All,

Need some help here; I was browsing my files in explorer when it hanged & crashed. After manually closing the service via task manager and relaunching explorer again I found that one of my HDD was listed as not labelled and not formatted. It looks like all of my data in that HDD is lost !
I've tried to swap ports and power cable but still the same results. Is there a way to retrieve the data on this hdd? I do know that there are 3rd party software out there but most of them are not free. I don't mind purchasing it but which ones would work to resolve or retrieve the data? Or better yet, any recommendations on any shops our folks out there that provides data recovery service? Thanks !

Mounting KEF 3005SE Eggs on Ceiling

Hi All,

I'm planning to mount the KEF Satellite speakers on the ceiling in the living room but am having some challenge on doing so because of it's shape & only wall brackets. I was thinking of doing something like below; custom make a steel bar, mount it from the concrete ceiling and out of the plaster ceiling with the speaker mounted on it using its already provided wall bracket.
Would this work (Anyone have contacts for this?) ? Someone was suggesting a wooden beam but not too keen on that as it's an eyesore to me. Or do any of you know of existing brackets in the market that is able to mount the KEF speakers on ceilings while not sacrificing any of it's angle maneuverability ? Many thanks !

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

IBM - Maxis Account

Hi All,

I've recently attended an interview for a position with IBM for their Maxis account (based at Plaza Sentral). I've been hearing from a friend in IBM (from other Business Units) that this account is messed up and has a high turnover rate. Was wondering if anyone out there is working under this account? How's the environment like? Any feedback or opinion would be great ! Thanks

Fujitsu Malaysia Cyberjaya - SI Department

Hi All,

I know there was a prior thread for Fujitsu Malaysia but that was for the Service desk department. Anyway, wanted to see if anyone has contact or prior working experience for the SI department at Fujitsu. They've made an offer for a PM role and I'll be meeting up with them soon to finalize the package. However, I've been hearing some unpleasent stuff like the environment's too "chinaman style", workload's a killer, etc.
Any comments? Thanks in advance.

Cheers
PS3 Lens Replacement

Hi Guys,

Alas, I'm one of those affected with the known lens problem for my 80Gb PS3. Would appreciate if anyone can advise on where I can have it replaced asap? I understand that the price is between RM300 - RM400. But so far most of the shops I've went too have ran out of stock for the lens. Don't want to resort flying or driving down to SGP just to replace it.

Moonguy

PC Auto Shutdown with Truepower II

Hi all,

Need some help here, I just bought a brand new TP II 550 W to replace my current TP 430W in my HTPC. After that, the auto shutdown only started to pop up so could it be PSU related?

Eg: PC on for an hour or so n it'll auto shutdown. Have removed the case cover, power-off the psu n started it up again. But it'll just shutdown on itself after a few min!

My PC Specs are :

P4 2.4C
Asus P4P800Deluxe
1Gb Kingstone
4 x 250 GB HDD
Hauppage MCE 150
X-Plosion Soundcard
NetGear PCI Wifi-G
TDK DVD-RW
Radeon 9800 Pro

Really need some help here. Thanks! : )

Hauppage MCE 150

Hi Guys,,
Currently setting up my HTPC but am now stumped with a problem with my Hauppage 150 MCE:

I've connected the I/R receiver to my Astro set top box decoder. The problem i'm facing now is that although MCE was able to 'learn' all of the channels via my astro remote, I still can't change the channels properly with my Hauppage remote control.

Example : Channel 40 keyed in but ill get Channel 4 on my Astro.

Any idea where i went wrong or wat's the solution?

NTT MSC

Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone is working or has worked at NTT MSC (KL & Cyberjaya branch). I've been offered a position there and would appreciate some feedback on the working environment there as well as its provided benefits, training, career opportunity, etc. NTT's HR has already strongly emphasized that it's a Japanese environment and long working hours' expected, tardiness, workload. I'm fine with all of these but hopefully some1 can share their experience of working there. Thanks in adv!

Cheers
