100% CPU usage problem...... HELP

OK the senario is like this.

I have 2 HDD , both old MAXTOR HDD 40GB and 30GB.

I installed Windows XP Pro OEM, Then when I open a program such as window media player or some download agent the CPU usage raise up to 95-100%.

Other than that, when I try cope files from 1 drive to another, the same problem occurs, 95-100% CPU usage.

Any advice that can help me to solve the problem?

THis is my old pc that run on Windows XP Pro

P4 2.8 GHZ
512MB x 2 RAM DDR
40GB + 30GB HDD
GIGABYTE P4M800

Laptop screen problem - LCD backlight cant on

I have problem with my laptop screen. my lcd backlight cant on but actually my laptop screen still have display.
I try to adjust the brightness but nothing happen. I suspect the backlight of my LCD burn.

Any idea how to repair it? or anyone can help me to repair it at a cheap price.
I m currently stay in penang, malaysia..

by the way, i prefer to have my laptop to go around with me so I hav no planing to buy a normal LCD monitor.
