Hey guys , I got a part-time job during my semester break which requires me to work on odd hours ( Shift work)

I will only use the bike from Gombak to KL most of the time.

So i need Motorcycle for Rent , i cant buy a motorcycle as its only for short term use.

91 People barred from entering KL

KUALA LUMPUR: The police have obtained a restriction order preventing 91 people, including Bersih organisers, Patriot/Umno Youth and Perkasa from entering the city central business district on Saturday.

Acting city police chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Amar Singh said the police would enforce the order under Section 98 of the Criminal Procedure Code if any one of the names stated in the order defied the restriction.

Those on the list include Bersih chief Datuk S. Ambiga, Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin and Perkasa president Datuk Ibrahim Ali

"They can be liable and charged under Section 188 of the Penal Code with Disobeying a Lawful Order of the Court which carries a maximum six months imprisonment or a fine or both upon conviction," he said here Thursday.

i got Securities Commission Scholarship
itz a local scholarship with 3 years bond at Securities Commission..

im interested in Business Admin degree..

Now i already told Securities Commission that i wanna study at Curtin Uni..

But i just noticed that all of Curtin Sarawak's Degree programme X have (HONS)

i was Like WTF !
rated as Excellent Uni n approved by MOHE but it x hv a HONS degree ???

so im confused ..

but then i check Taylor ,
seems they offer HONS degree
Dual Cert , one from taylors n another from Uni of WEST England
with nice course structure Like

i've been doing some research of my own regarding Lawyer profession.
it seems like very good and reputable profession but i just can't seem to put my hand on how much a Lawyer earns as a freshmen.So it would be helpful if you guys can help me out here..

How much a lawyer earns just with a Law Degree if he works under a Law Firm ?
How much can he earn with a law Degree and CLP if he works under a Law firm?

and how much Bonus can he get ?

FYI:this thread might be more towards Money and salary ; it is so bcaz i've already analyzed the Studying-part of it(Thanx to a Law Thread at Education Essentials)..

Help Save Turtles with Just One Signature

Petaling Jaya, 21st April 2009 – WWF-Malaysia today launched the “Egg=Life” campaign aimed at improving the protection of marine turtles in Malaysia.

The campaign, which will run from Earth Day 22nd April to 30th September 2009, targets to gain pledges from 40,000 members of the public. People who sign up in support of WWF-Malaysia’s “Egg=Life” campaign will pledge to:

* support laws that will ban the sale and consumption of all turtle eggs throughout Malaysia
* support the call for comprehensive and holistic Federal legislation to conserve marine turtles
* never consume turtle eggs, or trade in turtles or their parts

Anyone can sign up to support the campaign and help our marine turtles at wwf.org.my. Organisations and colleges that would like to undertake signature drives in support of the campaign can contact WWF-Malaysia for educational materials and postage-paid hardcopy sign-up forms.

At today’s launch, WWF-Malaysia Executive Director/CEO Dato’ Dr Dionysius Sharma said, “Turtles play a critical role in keeping marine ecosystems healthy; the same ecosystems which sustain our fisheries and tourism industries that provide food and livelihoods for millions of people. Marine turtles are threatened with extinction due to various factors, including: the practice of consuming turtle eggs, becoming accidentally caught in fishing gear, poorly planned coastal development, marine and nesting beach pollution as well as illegal trade of turtles and their parts.”

He explained that leatherback turtles have already been declared functionally extinct in Malaysia. In the 1950s, there were 10,000 leatherback nests in Rantau Abang each year; now there are less than 10. Moreover, turtle protection laws are inadequate. Current Federal law on turtles are limited. Under the Federal Constitution, it is the states that have the authority to make laws on turtles. State laws vary from state to state and are simply inadequate.

Dato’ Dr Dionysius Sharma appealed to the public and said, “Comprehensive and holistic Federal laws, additional resources and heightened enforcement are needed to effectively protect our turtles. Each signature in support of WWF-Malaysia’s “Egg=Life” campaign will lend weight to efforts aimed at improving turtle protection legislation in Malaysia, and I hope that everyone will log on to wwf.org.my and help save turtles with just one signature.”

In Peninsular Malaysia, WWF-Malaysia works with partners including the Department of Fisheries Malaysia to conserve turtles at key nesting rookeries including Kem Terendak, Pulau Upeh and Padang Kemunting beaches in Melaka as well as Ma’Daerah and Setiu beaches in Terengganu. Melaka’s beaches are home to the peninsula’s largest population of hawksbill turtles – with 20 to 30% of the state’s total nestings occurring on the 120 meter strip of beach in Pulau Upeh, the densest nesting beach in Melaka – while a significant population of green turtles nests on Terengganu’s beaches. These nesting beaches must be protected from pollution and development because they are critical to the survival of our marine turtles.

Well i'll start from scratch , First with my recent SPM result

English > A1
Malay> A2
English for science and tech > A1

seems nice right , believe me it gets worst from here

Sejarah > B3
Biology > B4
maths > B4

Moral > C5
Add.Maths > D7
Physics > D7
Chemistry > D7

So i'll narrow down to my last option ,

" IT/Comp.science or TESL Degree "

i like Computer related stuffs and i seem to be more interested in computer field .. So i've heard a lot people saying further your studies in what you like or else u'll flunk it as u're not that into the subjects you study..and i heard it again today while i was talking to my friend's cousin who is a successful Engineer...

Now the other part of the story , Early this month i spoke to my sister ; who is a business Admin. Degree holder(Her path after Spm is >STPM(4A then got JPA scholarship)>Finish degree>Working Now(earning 2k + as a freshie) ).And she advised me to take up TESL as my English is good and i kinda like English as well.she explained to me about the advantage of working as a Teacher (their benefit and all) , so i was kinda in the "OK this seems Nice" thought.i decided to do STPM(get scholarship)>do TESL Degree locally..

as you can see , im stuck here ..Both are likings..But IT/Comp.science Harder(correct me by my SPM result) and TESL seems to be a breeze(just my thought)...So which should i choose ??

STPM(2years)>TESL degree(4 years)(monopolized by Girls) > stuck being a teacher(no increment)(not sure about Posting)>do master >aim to be a Lecturer

IT Diploma(take loan-it kind of a burden to me)(2 n 1/2 year) >work(gain experience )>on Part time basis Continue Degree( again take loan)

So Help me out here EVERYBODY..

i saw this Entry requirement at UM's Website.

i can't really understand what they are trying to say..

Lulus 2 matapelajaran dengan sekurang-kurangnya
Gred C+ (NGMP 2.33) dalam matapelajaran Matematik
T/ Matematik Lanjutan T/ Fizik di peringkat STPM

That means pass 2 Subjects which includes either Maths T,Mat.Lanjutan , fizik ???

Or pass any other 2 subject But with atleast C+ in any One of these Subjects(MathsT or Mat.Lanjutan or Fizik)

Which One??

Hm i've been doing some research again and again in LYN about STPM..n Problems keeps popping out...

ok so this time ,

1) i plan to take Computing in STPM , but my school does not offer the subject..
so , my plan is , take 3 subjects at school then take Computing at TARC..
-if i do so , i can only study computing during weekends..
-Even if i do study in such way , Computing has 3 papers ,the first 2 papers i can do at school but the last one is Course work (it is something like Project , which should be marked by teacher-its done during the study duration), The marks for the course work would be send from TARC to the government to be added with the other two paper arh??

2)another Thing that i heard from my sister(ex-STPM student from Gov school) ,

-When the government SHORTLISTS candidates to enter IPTA , STPM candidate from Government school would be given more Priority Than STPM candidates from Private school(in my case,TARC)
-IS this TRUE???

Ex-students,Current Student or anyone , i need ur comment..Make it long one..i prefer the long comments(much more informative than the short one)..

Hai people , So i've Finally made up my mind and im planning to take up Form 6..

im from Science stream but i don't want anymore science subjects..

So here is the subjects offered in Form 6

6)Malay Language (i got A2 in SPM,but STPM BM should b Harder,so any comment??

anyway form 6 students are allowed to take up to 5 subjects...

In Between , i plan to take IT course in Future..
i've checked at APIIT i muz have 2 passes at STPM level and 4 credit passes at SPM..

So 2 passes won't be a big hassle(if i study Hard)..

The problem iz the SuBject i should take n where to take it..
i've checked at my nearest School that iz offering form 6(SMK Darul Ehsan),
only offers Pengajian AM,Mathematics S,Busines Studies,Malay for Art Stream

1)i need to know wheather the Transportation is affordable/easy or not??

Computer science degree-still Valuble?

Hye guys n gal..

im Arun n im 18 this year..Currently a SPM leaver

So while waiting for my SPM result , i used this time to find a suitable career n course for myself..n i found myself attracted to Computer science(cuz it covers software making + IT +the general stuffs)..but i found myself wondering wheather a degree in Computer science is equivalent to other Degree such as Law..

i meant Salary wise...i visited a Brickfields Asia College n they told me a legal adviser can easily earn up to 10 k to 15 k per month for a fresh graduate.. 8o (shocked)!!

As for computer science , i only heard the salary would be around 2k to 5k..even with good experience.. :? :? :?

n i do know that a fresh graduate in most of the field may only get around RM 1800 to RM 2200 ...

1) So seniors , anyone who is in these field or if fren is studying in either of them plz comment on it...

2)another thing that bothers me..

-i went to the Education fair recently , i visited n consulted a few booths for my fren n myself..

so over all conclusion,

SPM > Foundation in science or Engineering (costs around 10 to 12k n muz spent 1 year)>Degree in Computer science(50 to 60K for 3 year)>Get my Degree from UTAR (*one more thingy...Appit/UCTI does'nt offer Compute science degree,its only degree in Computing with certain specialization such software)

=4 years to join the work force(RM 1800 to Rm 2200<salary)

SPM > STPM (no big money..but 2 years roughly..) > Degree in Computer science (Local Uni OR overseas OR go to Private college)>get my Degree from either local uni OR oversea Degree(some priv.Uni does offer UK degree)

=5 years to join the workforce(RM 1800 to Rm 2200<salary)

Which path should i choose...im NOT financially FIT..My SPM i can expect 5 A1 to 8 A1..Need help here..

*i don't want to hear any advise regarding choose ur course depending on ur interest..i heard that alot..

+any thing other than that is welcomed..
