Hello everyone,

Just need help on this. But first, I would like to explain that I do know about the Memory Issues to Ryzen and AMD is always working to have these settings stable.

I am however looking to see if anyone has a WORKAROUND for this.

My problem is as the title has stated. I have a G-Skill Trident-Z RGB 3000mhz Ram however I can't set it to 3000mhz and only is stable at 2333mhz.

What I have tried:-

1. Set the memory to XMP - No work.
2. Manually entering the Ram Settings - No Work.
3. I updated to the latest BIOS 1.0.0.6 - No Work.
4. Attempted to use the ASUS Application to OC the Ram - No Work (Worth a try)

System:

Ryzen 1700X
ASUS ROG Crosshair Hero
G.SKILL RAM PC DDR4 TRIDENTZ RGB 2X 16GB PC3000 (F4-3000C16D-16GTZR) - Two Sets
Samsung 850 M2 256GB
2x Seagate Firecuda 2TB
Coolermaster 800Watt Gold PSU
Windows 10 Home

Note: I am currently outstation till 9th September. I figure I could get a workaround this if any before I get home so I can try out what you guys suggest.

GA-990FXA-UD5 UEFI BIOS - Don't have it

Hello Everyone,

Just wondering i have an AMD mobo GA-990FXA-UD5.

After a long time using i just only realise i'm using the OLD BIOS when i'm suppose to have UEFI.

Or is it because i bought it at an earlier time and it was not release at the time.

I've updated my BIOS and still looks like the Old Bios.

Is there a way to change it to UEFI interface or i'm gonna get a new mobo?

This is my friends PSU reading. As you can see its +5V is only 3.11V.

Is this ok or does it have a problem?

What does the +5V give power to? Does it supply to CPU?

I need to ask a question.

I'm using a Gigabyte 990FX-UD5 Motherboard.

I have 2pcs of 6870 and i'm having some heat issue.

Plan of Action
My next plan of action is to install a fan at the side of my case And placing the 2nd GC in the third slot to add to the cooling effect.

My board has 2 16x slot and 1 8x slot as it's third slot and 2 other slots.

If i place my GC in the Third slot which is 8x, will this affect the gaming performances?

Random System Hang

Hello Techs

I got a big problem and i need advice.

I keep getting random system hang during Online Bad Company 2 action.

All my temperature in the system is good and does not heat up.

What i did:-

1. I ran Heaven Benchmark for a 2 hours - Did not hang.
2. I played singleplayer Bad Company 2 for 2 Hours - Did not Hang.
3. I Ran a stress test with AMD Overdrive for 2 hours - No Hang
4. MSI Afterburner and ran Kombustor for 1 hour - did not Hangg
5. Thinking it was because of my Unlock Cores i lock back to 2 cores and set everything to default

What i did that made it hang:-
1. Bad Company 2 online - Hang in 30mins or 1 Hour.

What i realize:-
The only thing i see different before was that the screen freeze for 5-8 secs before each game, before the problem started it never was like that.

System Spec.

AMD 555 BE 3.2Ghz
MSI 870A-G54
MUSHKIN Silverline 1333Mhz 8Gb
Sapphire 6870 Default settings
ACBEL 550W Gold PSU.

Problem with Onboard Sound Card

Hello Technicians

OK i have a problem. I would like to solve without having to send my mobo back for warranty and hoping its just a glick.

Problem

My Sound driver keeps RE-detecting the speakers & headset. It does so every few Mins or secs give and take.

What i have done so far?

1. I have updated and downgrade the drivers. Uninstall driver and reinstall.
2. Currently i had to disable the driver so it wouldn't cause a blue screen.

What i haven't done but suppose to do

1. I forgot to get my OLD creative Sound card from my house to test it. Yes i'm not at home but somewhere else.

Any ideas on how to fix it?

Forgot to add

Realtek High Definition Audio Driver is my driver.

and is it normal to have TWO Digital Audio (S/PDIF) in the Sound list?? It's not right?

Modular an Unmodular PSU

Hello fellow modders,

I was wondering if it is safe for the PSU to be made modular. I have an un-modular PSU and i want to make it modular.

Planning to get all the proper connector and just cutting the cables so i can make them modular.

See pic for a sumary of what i mean.

What i mean in the picture is i get all the proper connectors or sockets and make them all modular.

Is it ok? will there be any chance in voltage?

All common sense tell me it will be ok but i need to hear from the experts.

I tried to DELETE "ClientRegister.blob like others say online but it doesn't work.

Pc Hang

I'm lost.

My pc keep hanging. The Screen Freeze (during games & even while surfing) and i then i will need to restart the pc only to boot with a harddisk... Then i got to turn off the pc for 5 mins before i can restart. Then only will it detect the harddisk again and the computer starts normally or freezes at the windows startup.

mobo: Abit AX78
CPU : AMD X2 5600
Gcard: 8800GT
PSU: Acbel Gold 550watt
Ram: 3piece 3GB 800mhz. (Normal Ram)

I'm not sure if its the PSU, Mobo or harddisk.

What i have tried?

Nothing....only thing i did was just discconnect the DVD-rom. problem have been going on for 1 month.

Dear Programmers i'm asking this on behalf of my wife. Who is taking her degree in IT now.

I will explain her problem here.

After installing IIS & ASP.NET

She created a form to submit any details anyone enters in to be saved onto a database in Access.

When she tries to submit a form with details into the database an Error is displayed. And no data is save into the database.

I am familiar with Access however i am not familiar with Websites linking to database.

Please see the word file i attach to this post and you will understand i hope.

it just doesn't update her database.

Razor Death Adder

I have a problem.

My mouse has recently started to double click by itself. Mouse is Razor Deathadder.

I have Scan with SuperSpyware, Malwarebytes & Kaspersky

However after i scan nothing was detected.

I tried to install Spybot search & destroy but it won't update so i can't install it.

I have even tried to update firmware & drivers but to no avail

Advice please.

AGE OF CONAN OFFICIAL SITE

Sure the title might not sound attractive. but has anyone actually looked at the gameplay?

This is another MMO that was recently released. Is anyone gonna try this out?

It was rate 7.8 by IGN. IGN.COM
It's has beautiful graphics and it's said by IGN to be still good even after you tune down the graphics.

Its said to have a hack & slash type gameplay and you'll even need to target your opponent if your using bows & arrows, no it isn't click and shot.
( I have not confirm this however )
But one thing for sure, its really brutal. Looking into the fight link on the official site.

As far as i can tell from the images posted on the official site the graphics does look good.

So i'm here to ask if anyone here has actually tried the game out yet?

I recently got myself an Extra 1GB ram of the same brand MUSHKIN.

As you can see my PC spec in my signature.

When i installed the 1GB ram i receive bluescreen when it loads Windows. (Using VISTA)

I tested the ram on my bro's pc to make sure it wasnt a ram problem. And tested it the whole day and there wasn't a problem, however he was using winXP.

1. I have tried removing all rams and installed it one by one.
2. I have set the setting in the BIOS to the ram spec.
3. I randomly switch the rams to different slots.
4. BIOS Updated.

Any clue on how to solve this or will i have to reinstall Vista??

HD makes Clicking sound

Hi

I read some similiar issue on Hard disk clicking.

However in my situation its only the 2nd Harddisk. And only has a clicking sound when i shutdown.

I found it strange that it only happen after i changed mobo. I'm very sure i didn't hit or bang it to anything during removal process.

I updated BIOS and sata drivers to try and solve the problem but to no success. I try new power cord & set it to another sata port and also with no success.

I think my PSU is powerful enough to supply adequate power to the system since it's a 550WATT Acbel PSU (GOLD)

Any clues? I think it's too early for my Harddisk to die.
