Recording video from Unifi IPTV

Say we want to schedule recordings of shows for viewing later, what are our options in terms of hardware and software setup?

I think there would be very few capture devices with HDMI input at present so I would like some suggestions.

Thanks
Using a VPN service

Can anyone shed some light on whether getting a US VPN service would improve ping times and playability on US BF 2142 servers?
If so, anyone can share a reasonably priced VPN service? I wonder if Witopia is any good as it is 39.99 a year and if that gives more playable servers, it may be worth it.
On the other hand from my limited understanding, the overhead in encrypted packets may actually worsen latency.

Appreciate input. Thanks
Fragnetics servers unstable?

Firstly I have signed up with Fragnetics as a a "preferred" paying gamer.
I notice when I first try to connect to one of theFragnetics BF2142 servers, I get "connection lost' then on the second try it works (usually).
It's quite annoying that lately the servers will kick out a large number of players all of a sudden and it's a pain having to rejoin all the time.
Is it only me?
I am in Subang Jaya and on Streamyx 1 MB package.

Ubuntu 7.04 and USB Wifi experience

I must say Ubuntu 7.04 is a much better overall experience for me than 6.06 LTS. USB now works and I am pleased to report that my PCI USB Wifi (802.11 b/g) worked without any driver installation. However when I plugged in an Azteh 8011 b/g USB it did not work and in fact screwed things up. Somehow I managed to get the PCI working again.
Anyway, what's your experience in this area, guys?
