what is the difference between this two? whats the advantage of going for xv240yp over vg240yp ( the price is almost rm 100 difference ) , i would prefer the cheaper option but i dont mind paying extra if the difference is big

Spec info

i5 2500k 3.3ghz
4Gb Ram
GS700 corsair psu
P67A-UD3-B3 ( motherboard)
Gigabyte GTX 580 1.5gb

Problem

Bluescreen with 0x00000116 error

Things that i see so far

1) the motherboard splash screen ( the model logo that comeout before bios start) is distorted with vertical lines
2) the blue screen with 0x116 error is quite distorted
3) computer works fine in safe mode
4) can boot window normally as long as i disable the graphic card

so far im still using the graphic card vga port for display but i have to disable the gc in device manager. If i installed the graphic card driver + active the graphic card it will blue screen the next time it tried to enter window normal mode.

please tell me if you need more infos , im kinda blur2 here , thank you

gpu = gigabyte gtx 580 1.5gb
mobo : gigabyte p67a-ud3-b3
ram = 2x4gb
psu(dead) = mushkin mknpsvt650 ( 650w)

a few days ago my psu died ( a loud pop at the back and burnt smell) , sent it for warranty .

Anyway i wonder why it exploded since i played it fine when im at home and at dorm , but after moving to a rental house , it exploded less than 30 mins after i turn it on. Probably smth to do with power surge or bad wiring not sure.

I would like to buy a new psu that suit my spec , budjet around rm 300-350 . 700w or 80% true power idk ( im not good with pc stuff). And should i buy an AVR? if so recommend me a good one within rm 50 budjet , thx

i decided after a few month to buy a new pc ( yeah i posted my pc recommendation thread in price and dealership 5 month ago but only now managed to raise the fund xD)

my sis broke her lcd screen and dell refuse to compensate becoz its her fault soo im trying to find the cheapest replacement screen for her. Usually wats the cost of the laptop lcd screen for this model ( new one or second hand one) since the dell centre quote over rm800

the laptop is still under warranty ( since she just bought it in februari)

i wanna build a gaming rig , thinking of geting Phenom II x 4 andAti 4890 as , with a decent lcd monitor , hoping for 2.5k budjet

can help me list down any recommended full spec with price , i decent lcd monitor would be fine for budjet from 2.5k - rm 3k ( max is 3k . -.- or else im gonna eat magie mee for the rest of the semester )

Problem with Hardisk ( Laptop )

im using Dell Vostro 1500 ( the nvidia 8400gs model ) and currently having problems with the hard drive

my old hard disk spoiled ( the default hard disk was 120 gb Hitachi ) and i replace it with a 320 gb Western Digital , but after using it for about 3 weeks the hardisk KOed ( Cannot Detect Interal Hard Disk ) and was force to send back to the shop to claim warranty ( and was force to wait for 3 month to get a new one ) so in the mean time i bought a Samsung 250gb.......and it koed during the first time format ( half way format , then cannot detect anymore ) so sent back to shop , luckly can get new one on the spot , so i ask them to format for me........till yesterday.....it finally KOed......T___T.......( detect hardisk but cannot be formatted ) then at the shop try cannot detect..........arghh issit just my bad luck with hardisk or my laptop is the source of the problem...........

Connection Problem

im 100% confident that tis is not streamyx problems ,

alright heres my prob , for the past few years my internet life was miserable , it started when i changed from the 1 port DLINK to the 4 port DLINK modem ( with 4 port i meamn 4 CAT5 slot ) , my connection suck , some time theres no connection at all , i tried to contact streamyx and they send technician to my house , they said the line was 24/7 on .......but i can only online for 2-3 hours a day ..........i suspect the modem problem.....

the problem is

1) there is connection ( i check with the network places in control panel , the " LAN connection " said it receiving data , but when open up browser got this " Looking for Webstire ".....

2) always dc when surfing/o9 gaming , note the Local Area Network at Control Panel still state that its receiving data....but no connection...

3) have this Limited or no connectivity

i believe its not the line problem but its the modem , but how can i make sure its the modem prob ? the light at the modem ( the LAN ) is blinking something stay , sometime blinking........

if its the modem prob pls advice about the good modem model that i should buy , i hope it with 4 CAT5 port

p/s im a noob in this kind of problems
