Im not talking about their political belief or practice, but based on youtube videos, you can notice putin is beloved and respected in his country, genuine to help needy, engaging in first hand ground level with the people, took issues and see it to resolution himself for the sake of the people, employ highest discipline and expectation in his ministrial board, and so on.
