Tashirojima is a Japanese island with only about 100 human residents. In the 1950s, that number was closer to 1,000, many of whom kept cats as house pets. While the aging human population dwindled, their pets lived on. In 2013, the remaining residents find themselves overrun with a clowder of adorable domestic cats.

Aoshima is another such island, with only 15 residents. Veterinarians periodically visit to give the furry islanders a checkup.

I knew him since we were in high school and now we're in college together. He is handsome, athletic, smart, tall and every bit the kind of man that all girl dream off. Indeed he is very popular among the girls. Before this we were mostly friend, hang out now and then, always in a group. Even though I have always harbor a feeling for him, I kept it to myself as I'm really just a normal girl, someone that wouldn't match up or even be anywhere in his interest at all.

Everything changes while I was in school break last year, we keep seeing each other (in group) and in process gets to be closer. We even started to chat in msn and fb, we would talk about anything and everything, it like we just connect and would look forward to meet up or chatting section together and wonder why we didn't do these earlier.

Finally school started again (April), I remembered being super excited about school (which kinda never happen before) and meeting him without the guys in our group to interrupt us. The first day at school were super sweet, we're already acted like we're a couple. I remember being all fluttered and giggly, I was being all cute acting like small kid in front of him. I remember camwhoring and posting it in fb, my friends would noticed that I put on a different overly sweet smile haha.

Finally the next day, he asked me to be his girlfriend and I was so happy. I was in love with him so much, and was so excited to finally start our relationship. During the short period we did everything together and were very happy, even when we weren't dating. He wanted to hang out with me everyday and we missed each other company pretty much every night. I was in cloud 9 then.

Then everything changes again, started only before christmas last year. He started to be cold towards me. At first I thought it's the normal, I need my own times with my friends and stuffs thingy. So I just follow the flow and give him the space. And the lies started and he would spend less and less times with me. He would say he's busy with assignments and project or his friend need his helps or he's hanging out with friends only. While my friends who report to me they saw him doing different things or at different places, even being overly friendly like lovers with other girls. At first I don't want to be the paranoid gf and just shove it off as nothing and I wouldn't confront him. Until I saw him myself going to cinema with groups of his friends and girls, when he told me he was at home studying for the semester exam.

At that time, I couldn't control my tears, as I spent times missing him and worrying about him while he really seem to enjoy his life behind my back. I even start digging through his fb and friends fb, I know it's not right but I found tons of his photos in others girl fb being all too friendly even dancing in clubs...and the kind of acts that only couples does. I felt my walls comes crumbling down, how could he do this to me. But still I wasn't brave enough to confront him, instead I would started to be very clingy to him believing it was my own fault for not being caring enough or not wanting enough to be with him all the time.

I would call and message him almost every moment I can, probably sensing something was wrong, at first he was responsive and almost answers or replied to my calls and messages. We even started to date more often again. I was okay again, it seem to be just like a bad dream that I've finally woke up from. Then December came and he needed to enlist on ns. We started to drift once more, cause of being unable to contact each other. Luckily they are allowed phone calls and internet every Sunday, I had to content then to talk to him only once a week but still it was okay, somehow I'm sure we will pull it through. We even celebrated the new year eve together when he was given holiday for it. But my happiness was cut short once again.

Once again he stop contacting me. At first, I thought his superior probably giving them the hard times and won't allow them to do the usual calls and stuffs. Then I caught him chatting in fb with one of girls friend while I was with her. He would appear offline in fb but somehow they're chatting together. I decided to leave him messages in fb but silent...no reply...while he being actively chatting with others. He even rather update his status then to reply me. Of course it hurt me, but I kept it inside as we promise to tolerate the separation due to ns. Beside cny is coming at that time and he promise when he's back from ns for cny we would go on a date.

Cny comes and pass, so does valentine day, I would leave him calls and messages every days. Only to found out later, that he'd back for some times now. Even though he went back to his home town for cny there are one to two days he was around. His only reason for not returning my calls and messages is that he didn't noticed them and he got more important things to do. Feeling this reason wasn't enough I pressured him into explaining to me further. That when he started to get mean and scolded me. My eyes burned with tears from the words that came out of his mouth. He said I was untrusted, paranoid, burdensome, worse of all I was consider as a waste of his times and effort, something he wish to forget. I don't know why but I keep on asking for forgiveness that I can be a better person for him, I took all the blames.

Next day, he asked for a temporary break up. He warned me not to contact him at all, if I do, he would dump me right then. Saying that he needs times to think about us. And when we meet again next time he could give me his answers. I hold on, foolishly thinking maybe that really the solution, that we'll be happily together again when the time comes. But still, I'm too weak, too fill with emotion, emotion of missing him, I wouldn't eat, I had sleepless nights. I even avoid going out with my friends and stay lock in my home, just in case he call our land line and I would miss it. My mood was lifted up abit when my grandmother, ahma, come to visit us for chap goh mei. That the only day, I can say I was happier abit. When she went back to our home town, I started to get anxious again. Finally, last week I can't stand missing him any longer and started to leave him calls and messages again both phones and fb, hoping I can hear his voice at least.

What I gets in return was a messages saying "it's over, don't ever contact me again". Time stop for me, the world is spinning and I broke down cried for hours. Devastated I tried to contact him even more. That when I found out he had banned my calls and messages, he even goes on to unfriend in fb. Now I don't even have the mean to contact him. Everything is loss, life feel so pointless and I had been having fever ever since. Oh my God, how much it hurt, I never imagine it could hurt this much. My heart just keep aching so much, I feel it would burst anytime now, which probably would do me good anyway.

My friends would tell me that they heard rumors of him before, that he's a playboy and changes gf many times. That all he wanted was my body, since he's not getting it, that why he left me. These words all mean nothing to me now. I loved him too deep and all these talks just hurt me more.

How can i make these hurts go away, how can i go on with my life now, I feel that I'll lose my mind soon?

Sorry for the long story, wall of text, I really felt burned out and needed to release this...
