I just checked the global covid 19 casesCoronasvirus Update, USA still having many cases and death everyday, their cases and death are almost one third of the global total cases. Just wonder are they still putting effort on curbing this? the daily death cases is so high that i would thought the country is like having war.

Meanwhile, i saw the India population is quite high(second top population after China) despite their country size is less than half of China and USA. Shouldn't they improve citizen's lifestyle first rather than increase the population?

Taman Desa News Again

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 18 — The Protect Taman Desa Coalition today shared several photographs and videos of foreign workers it claimed were “abandoned” at the site of The Address condominium project that suffered a structural collapse.

The coalition’s media coordinator M. Gunasekar claimed in a statement today that the workers were living there without food and healthcare after the developed Maxim Holdings was ordered to stop work at the site.

“The construction company involved in the construction of the collapse site has allegedly abandoned migrant workers to fend for themselves. A big number of foreign workers were seen inside the site without proper food and medical attention.

“The surrounding condominium resident, whose foreign maid was in contact with the workers says there are a number of workers stuck inside the project site with no food or pay. Residents from the surrounding condominiums are doing charity drive to feed them. Apparently, a number of workers with injuries are also not treated for their injuries,” Gunasekar said in a statement.

He urged the Human Resources Ministry, the Local Government and Housing Ministry, the Immigration Department, and the Department of Occupational Safety and Health to investigate.

However, The Address project manager Seymour Chew denied the allegation when contacted by Malay Mail.

“Actually, my people, all the management people are still at the site.

“Of course, of course, of course,” Chew said when asked if Maxim was still caring for the needs of its foreign workers.

He also said he will look into the residents’ claims.

A section of the condominium collapsed on February 14 following heavy rain.

Two workers from Bangladesh had been trapped but were later rescued and sent to Hospital Kuala Lumpur for treatment before being released.

The Address, a 202-unit, low-density residential project on a rise next to a public school began construction at the end of 2017.

It is opposed by Taman Desa residents who complained of noise pollution and accused the developer of ignoring construction conditions set by the Kuala Lumpur City Hall.

This is not the first time the project has suffered construction problems.

On January 23, 2018, a crane at the site fell over and damaged the adjoining Tiara Faber Condominium.

On February 15, Malay Mail reported that construction workers at the project were seen moving out of the building site.

They were seen carrying mattresses, rice cookers, table fans, adapters, toiletries and clothes, and loading them into their respective e-hailed transportation.

A worker who did not want to be named said all those staying there had to vacate their living quarters.

Taman Desa residents allege workers left at site of condo collapse

As per title, my condo management ask for tenants' car registration form photocopies for apply condo's car sticker. Personally i think this does not make sense because i can just provide them SnP to indicate how many carparks i bought and they just provide me car stickers accordingly.
Malaysia Traffic Light System

Well, i feel quite fed up with the traffic lights in Malaysia.
Sometimes the opposite road has no car passing but still keep green light whereas the other side is in long queue wait for the stupid traffic which turns to red after few seconds of green light.
And then certain places has timer before turn red, or green light blink for few seconds, or have car detect sensors.
PB CI Care

Guys just to share with my encounter today. I received a call from 03-20023 1988. The caller is Malay lady who speak Malay very fast. She said i'm 1 of the user under Public Bank who offered to this PB CI Care plan. At that moment i google it and found this program exist while listen her bla bla bla. At first i want to stopped her to proceed, butr then really regret didnt do so.

She introduce this PB CI Care and then explain plan offered for this which i can't really get what she said as she speak too fast. After a while when she speaks about figure per month i tried to stop her and ask her what's about that and she ask me no need worries because she just explain only and it won't charge me without my consent. She saids she will sent me a document which i truly regret to give my working address. I fall to her trap. I thought is somekind of brochure.

I tried to call Public Bank and the operator gaves me a contact number who i can deal with. The PB CI Care is plan which Public Bank works with AIA together and i realize the telemarketer might from AIA. I call the given numbner the he caller answer is a Chinese girl.i told her the situation and she told that if i agree verbally in the conversation with the telemarketer earlier and give my address means i accept it. Then I tell i want to stop or cancel whatever because i don't really need it. She ask my IC to confirm the cancellation. I was like "WTF" and tell back her if you don't even have my IC how you able to make us to aceept this shitty plan and now you need my IC number to cancel it. I worry that if i give them my personal data further i will be in trouble in the future. She said fine and ask me go to nearest Public Bank to fill a cancellation form to avoid any charges on my account balance.

So i go to bank and talk to 1 of the customer service. I told her the situation and then she threw back this issue to me by giving me AIA hotline. Sweat and curse these both of this bloodsucker company.

Finally i still have to call to AIA and give her my name, ic and contact in order to let them call me again to confirm the cancellation, which i havent receive any call from them yet.

To all of you, beware of the number above, if she keep talking to you in fast tone means she are telling you the T&Cs before you say yes. This scumbag tactics.

Hopefully there is good news for next updates.

Ex-DBKL exec director jailed

https://www.nst.com.my/news/crime-courts/20...s-worth-rm2-mil

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Syed Afendy Ali Syed Abid Ali, formerly Kuala Lumpur City Hall’s (DBKL) executive director (project management), was sentenced to eight months jail and a RM80,000 fine on eight counts of using his position to secure eight condominium units worth almost RM2 million.

Judge Allaudeen Ismail, in passing the sentence, ruled that the defence had failed to raise reasonable doubt in the case.

The court sentenced Syed Afendy Ali, 56, to jail time and RM10,000 fine for each charge, with the jail term to run concurrently.

Allaudeen however, allowed an appeal by Syed Afendy Ali’s lawyer, Hamidi Mohd Noh, to delay the punishment until an appeal has been filed in the High Court.

The court, as a result, upheld the RM1 million bail on the accused, with his passport handed over to the court until the appeal process is completed.

According to the charge sheet, the accused, who was DBKL’s Economic Planning and Development Department (JPEPP) director, had used his position to secure eight condominium units from Danau Lumayan Sdn Bhd. The units, each worth RM249,990, were meant for four people - Minah Abdullah,75; Mazwan Amin Mohd Noor, 46; Rodziah Abd Samad, 56; and Syed Ashraf Ali Syed Afendy Ali, 30.

The offences were committed at the JPEPP office between Sept 6 and Oct 16, 2014. He was charged under Section 165 of the Penal Code, which provides for a maximum jail term of two years or fine, or both upon conviction.

The accused, who appeared forlorn, had appealed for a lighter sentence, saying that his life was in shambles since his arrest.

“I’ve lost everything. Today, you can see for yourself that I’m in court only with my wife and child. I lost my friends. With my poor health (heart problems), I’ve lost 20 kilogrammes throughout the duration of this case. I ask for me not to be sent to jail. Even if I was to be fined, I have debts all around,” he said.

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s (MACC) deputy public prosecutor, Ahmad Akram Gharib, however, urged the court to mete out a suitable sentence as the accused had abused his position for personal gain.

Meanwhile, the court acquitted and freed Syed Afendy Ali of a charge of using his position to secure a three-storey shoplot worth RM930,000 from Danau Lumayan Sdn Bhd for Rodziah. He was the deputy secretary in DBKL’s Finance Department at the time the event occurred (March 2, 2009).

He was also acquitted and freed of nine counts under the Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorism Financing Act 2001 (AMLATFA), involving RM1.5 million.

Proton Wira cuts toll queue

Picture in this link: https://www.facebook.com/inforoadblockjpjpo...pe=3&permPage=1

This terrible accident happened when the Proton Wira involved switched lanes (presumably out of the sudden) and tried to cut into the queue of vehicles at the toll booth.

With more and more toll plazas switching to increase the amount of electronic payment lanes and reducing cash lanes, motorists should take note of what payment method they want to use and be sure they are in the lane that they want to use well before the queues start to prevent such incidences from happening.

If you do happen to have to switch lanes into the middle of one that already has a long queue, do not do so suddenly. Turn on your indicators and wait until someone who is completely aware of the manoeuvre that you want to do allows you to cut in.
