Power Cage / Rack & Then some.

* This is just me sharing some links.

1. Equipment are often available from fitness store duh? But generally, we get the feeling of "if buy from retail stores, especially if it is located in a glitzy mall, it must be expensive." Well I think it is not entirely wrong

2. To source for equipment elsewhere you can:
2a. Google "wts powercage +malaysia" and run yourself into some wts forum threads.
caveat: most wts classifieds will require some hassle in cash exchanges & transportation.
2b. Mudah.my was a popularly mentioned.
2c. See if some gyms are running out of business and buy 2nd hand.
2d. Ask your local gym owners, trainers, gym junkies if they know of anyone who deals gym
2e. Come up with a drawing and ask a metal shop to fabricate it.

I did a bit of digging and found some interesting and "easy" way of shopping for some of these things:

1. http://www.lelong.com.my/merchant/nicholas...C2-124882-1.htm
(the lelong shop is "http://www.lelong.com.my/merchant/nicholaslai-Fitness.Equipment-C1-93721-1.htm")

The proprietor is from Malacca. The price reflected in the equipment is shipping included.
The full power cages (without weight racp attachment) for example costs RM1,950 for a lighter duty one (grey painted frame) and RM2,650 for a "commercial" duty cage (yellow painted frame).
The RM2,650 looks solid but the RM1,950 will allow the lesser hardcore person to do more for less. I am just gonna say that these equipment are China made.

Of course for a bare squat posts is found here for less than 1k:
http://www.lelong.com.my/fitness-gym-equip...4-06-Sale-P.htm

For benches:
Mind you, the cheapest adjustable costs RM500 and upwards to a higher priced to be around 1.6k, which is not exactly budget friendly.
http://www.lelong.com.my/merchant/nicholas...-C2-95074-1.htm

Especially for those looking to start with a power cage, i think options provided this lelong shop is decent. I spoke with the proprietor over the phone and he is willing to include a bench along with the cage purchase for RM200 only (fixed bench I assumed). Thus, if you are looking for the RM700+ bench, be sure to ask for a big discount when you are buying the powercage.

2. http://eng.impulsefitness.com/contact.aspx

For those who are used to importing stuff, this is a great place to get your equipment as well. I am pretty sure there are already fitness equipment retailers who are selling them. But if you can purchase direct why not!? I have ordered machineries from Qingdao, China. Was quite surprised at how simple and easy to deal with. Wire money, wait for shipment, pops infront of my office.

Their power cages are slightly upscale price wise. But if anyone is looking for RM3k direct which are being sold for RM4k from a local retailer, this is a good way to go around it

here is the if line powercage:
http://eng.impulsefitness.com/product-deta...h-0093-2-.shtml

here are the even nicer ones:
http://eng.impulsefitness.com/product-detail-tw-059-28.shtml
http://eng.impulsefitness.com/product-deta...-0067--28.shtml

looky here: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2914291/all someone on this forum has the equipment and I know some one is already enquiring to purchase it but not me though Home for me is to relax. If I wanna do work/labour I will go to the gym instead ~

Anyhow, I hope this is helpful. Will edit to add more if I get a list of brick & mortar local gym equipment retailers who do not have their shop operate in a big mall

-- -- -- --

ANSWERS TO YOUR DISCONNECTS : HERE

Ok a confirmation here if anyone wanna create a detailed sticky with this issue. Because I have tried literally every trick, solution there is to get this thing fixed.

Note that there are many reasons why u are getting disconnected.
Disconnection issue (specially for malaysian users)

here goes the list.

1. Disconnecting when in Dalaran or Northend
Symptoms: inconsistent disconnection, other characters in any other places (ie. orgrimmar etc.) logs on just fine.
Probable problem: Questhelper addon.
Solution: Disable Questhelper or just wipe clean ur addon folder (c:\ >> WOW >> Interface >> Addon)

2. Disconnection happened out of the blue.
Symptoms: Everything seemed fine one day before, then all sudden can no longer log on, or log on gets stuck after you try to log ur character in by clicking "Enter World"
Probable problem: A lot, a few but do look below for the parameters to be sort out.

a. Check hardware.
I am assuming that if you can read this from the computer you are having problems with
connecting to WOW, your modem, router and cable/usb adaptor is connected. Otherwise
please check that they are properly connected and not faulty. I would remove a wireless
connection and/or the router and connect the modem directly to your computer. Set the
connection up and open up a webpage (ie http://www.google.com) to see if you are
connected to the internet.

If at this point you are not connected to the internet, then you may want to replace the modem
or your network card on your computer. Which one,? Well use the same modem and plug
it into a different computer and see if works. Simple elimination process.

If at this point your connection works, then try to set it up with your router (wireless or not),
If after installing the router and the connection fails, then replace the router.

If you HAVE connection to the internet, then proceed to the next step.

b. Check your connection speed.
http://www.speedtest.net (click your destination connection to some area in the US of A)
If your upload and download speed is less than 20kbps or ping is above 1000 then this is
an issue with your connection quality.
Solutions:
If you could not find your IP from speedtest.net, then go to http://www.ipchicken.com
and see what your IP number is.
Then, restart your router or modem (turning power off then on again, or if you know how,
u can restart the router remotely ie 192.168.1.1 (linksys))
Upon connection, refresh http://www.ipchicken.com and see if it changed (probably will).
Try your connection to wow again or with http://www.speedtest.net

The techniqe above is simply to cycle IP's to see if a certain IP's are congested
(ie congested and slow connections) and is affecting your connection. There might be a few
IP's that are terribly slow and some are fsat, and these "fast/slow" IP's also depends on the
time of day and your location.
Note that to get priority IP's (ie good connection speed IP's) you may need to sign up for more
$$$$ expensive $$$$ braodband packages or in the case of Malaysia, move to other country
where there are more selection of ISP's to choose from.
But this may not be the issue so, if you keep getting slow connection, try a few more times
(like 5-6times) and if it still fails, procced to next.

Call up the technical assistant or helpdesk from your Internet Service Provider (comcast,
streamyx etc.)
Check with them whether your connection is in good condition and ask them to send a
technician to inspect your DSL line / connection quality.

In the case of streamyx user, you will probably be going thru the "ipconfig /all, flushdns"
process on your computer as advised by the textbook driven tech support from streamyx.
Do those and see if it helps. If it doesnt, demand politely for a technician to be sent to
inspect your connection quality.

http://www.mediacollege.com/internet/troub...traceroute.html

c. Check WOW troubleshooting & solutions here:
http://forums.wow-europe.com/thread.html;j...293499602&sid=1
http://forums.wow-europe.com/thread.html;j...405449520&sid=1

Basically those troubleshooting will help you determine if your hardware drivers are up to date
and no firewalls/security issues that are blocking your connections. If you have been playing
wow with no problem and the disconnection happens all of a sudden, then I dont think those
troubleshooting helps much. Unless someone decide to mess your computer up while you are
not there. ie. shared computer, spouse using your comp and unknowingly clicked "yes" to some
malware downloads etc.

d. In any other cases, if you need forum expert to help you whether from this forum or from the
worldofwarcraft tech support forum, they will need the following information:

ISP -
Country -
Modem (and firmware version if known) -
Router (and firmware version if known) –
Network device (Driver version if available) -
Type of connection used (Wireless / USB / Ethernet) -
Operating System -
Security Software installed (Firewall, Anti-Virus) –
Traceroute to your realm – http://eu.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?articleId=18888

Ultimately, the traceroute is a good piece of information to see where your connection is failing.
http://eu.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?articleId=18888 (as posted above shows you how to do it)

In addition, it would be good to check if you have some other programs or viruses running that
is prohibiting you from connecting to wow. Thus, it will be nice for a tech support to know what
is running on your computer. try: tasklist >c:\tasklist.txt on your command prompt. Go to c: drive
and retrieve the text document named "tasklist.txt" open it and copy paste the information on it
on the forums so tech support can identify any conflicting programs.

*Important advice: when you do decide to execute tasklist printout, terminate any incrimnating
programs (ie, porn games) or edit out the text file.

c. Do know that there are some connection issues that may be out of your control or your ISP's
or blizzard (ie. undersea communication cables snapped due to any amount of reason)
In those cases, you may still be surfing the net smoothly, or not, your friends might still be
playing wow smoothly, or not, because the dynamics of an internet connection is vast and
do know that you are not alone. Perhaps give it a few days/weeks or a month to see if the
connection improves. If after 1 month this problem persist, I'd take a foll proof approach like
this:

Check the system requirement of your computer and make sure your computer is not made
of woodchip and powered by a hamster.

Otherwise, proceed

1. Format hardrive and reinstall windows
2. Reinstall WOW (refrain from installing any other programs to make sure no conflicts)
3. (if you wish to skip both process above you may just do a repair on your by)
c:\wow\repair.exe *but this does not guarantee a foolproof approach.

*At this point you will need internet connection. So, you have another computer,
check to see if you can connect to the internet. If you cant, then call up your ISP
to fix it.

4. Update your service packs from microsoft.
5. Make sure all hardwares have lastest drivers and google it (from another computer)
to make sure they do not conflct history with the game.
6. Avoid using a router if possible and set up a direct to internet connection.
7. Update WOW to the lastest patch.

*At this point, if you are able to connect to WOW then youre all set. But if you could
only connect to the internet and not wow then you have done all you can on your side
to ensure there is nothing wrong with your computer and your network setup.

8. Search the internet for news of a undersea network cable breakdown that MAY affect you.
9. Search forums to see if there are a ton of others having the problem just like you.
10. Wait out for a few days/weels/month (you decide your level of patience).
11. All else fail, quit WOW.

Im not sure how helpful this post is as im only writing on top of my head from the crap i have to go through.

I do realize that in the end, there was nothing i can do really, cuz some undersea cable broke and apparently
jamming SOME connections up. Some lucky ones gets to log on, enter world and have high ping but still
playable if you have a high level of patience and that addictive to the game. Those who arent lucky like me
will get disconnected from WOW immediately upon entering world because the latency is over 20k ms
(realm's first achievement) and it wont even enter world.

Solution; I went out shopping, decide that I dont shop but my wife does, So i went bowling. Decide to
buy an epic level bowling ball because that level 2 ball just dont ahve enough hit rating on the pins.
Found out that bowling is sort of gear dependent and even newbs like me can get a arenabowl rating
if 165 per game and high of 180 pergame using an epic level ball. Never aggro in a dodgy bowling
arena which cause serious damage to the ball and I found that out 2 days ago, which cost my alot of
G's to repair. Neways. Outtie 5000.

The connection got a lil better atm while Im still at work. It loaded the game with 500ms ping, did
25man Arch and Sarth with 800 to 1k in-raid ping, disconnected a few times but hey, I entered world!
neways, nothing wrong with my comp or the internet thing, glad to find that out and guess im just
gonna give WOW a rest till everyone is super geared and they gonna run me through heroics and
I get all the sweet lewts.

ss

I have read already a several post before i went ahead and start posting.

Yes I am well informed about the whole undersea cables disruption etc.

I have already made my post on the WOW forums:
http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.h...8874519&sid=1#0

No blues aka (blizzard rep) replied or gave any constructive advise yet.

From what I understand, there are SOME in Malaysia who could still play WOW.

I will copy and paste what i posted in the WOW forums and hoping someone could see the things I have done and the results from trace route and pings would help determine whether this disconnection issue has anything to do with my computer, router, modem, phone line, streamyx, wow server or even if I need to reinstall WOW.

I have moved my computer (yes my laptop is broken), to the office just to double check, same thing happened.

heres the schwing

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Briefly what happened:

Able to log into the Character Selection area. once Clicked "Enter World" the loading page will pop and the loading bar fills up and then it disconnects and bring me back to the log-in splash page. Yup, I got pretty sick of the dragon sound effect hovering every now and then.

I did level one of my character on this computer, on this connection setup, exactly the way it is now with no problem. Only after I hit 80 (which i dont think it has anything to do with it) like 2 weeks ago, this problem occur. Every now and then tho, I was able to log on my DK alt who is in the Scarlet area. My main is logged out/ disconnected out while at Ogrimmar.

I did checked out all the stickied posts before I decide to post here.

I know my internet connection is more than fine from the results I obtain from:
http://www.speedtest.net/
my ping to a random spot in north America was like 345ms (Utah) from Malaysia.

And to further convince myself, I downloaded some files from sourceforge from US locations and my download speed was like an avg of 142kb/s. Apps like vent and msn messenger is working fine as well and not seeing any disconnects.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

My ISP & Details:

ISP: Streamyx c/o Telekom Malaysia
My Location: Perak, Malaysia
Realm: Thaurissan

What I have done previously to try mitigate this problem:
a. Ipconfigs (flush, renew, release)
b. Called my ISP (did Ipconfig flush renew release + refreshing ports and checking my line was fine)
Should be fine since I am able to log on this forum, vent running and msn messenger did not
disconnect. They are not running atm tho.
c. Connect to modem without a router using cable connection. Yes I went out to get a 15m cable jsut for this.
d. Restarted modem by unplugging everything then replugging them in.
e. Restarted comp a few times.
f. Ran "repair.exe" gosh it took forever.
g. removed cache folder, wtf folder, wnb folder.
h. Since my connection goes as far as the character page, i did my tracert at that point without logging my character in because after the loading bar fills, it stops there for a brief 20seconds and I will get disconnected.
i. Set video options to lowest possible quality and turned off sound.
m. Set security to low.
n. Set exceptions for wow from firewall.
o. Fixed the MTU as adivised for the Wireless Adaptor
p. Used http://www.speedtest.net/ to see connection speed from my location to a US location (Utah)
Download: 166 kb/s, Upload 116 kb/s, ping 343m/s, distance covered 8800miles.
ISP detected: Telekom Malaysia Berhad.
q. Made sure I have Vista Service Pack 1
r. Tried running WOW as administrator as well
s.
