Hi everyone,

I am currently studying in Australia and will fly back to Malaysia by end of June for winter break. I have couple of car audio amplifier that taken out from my car here in Australia and hoping to bring it back to Malaysia. The items were bought second hand in Australia and have no receipt. But from what i know, importing electronic goods into Malaysia will be charged 30% of import tax. But my items are used and bought second hand. Will they tax me? Any method to avoid that?

Interns for biomedical students

Hi all, I would like to ask a few questions about internship for bio-medical student.

A friend of mine, which is currently studying in Taylor's University as a bio-medical student will need to do her internship for 5 months starting in the coming August. But right now the company which offered her a intern job in JB is not going to pay her, which means she have to work for the company for free for 5 months and she really not willing to do so. Therefore, I am trying to help her look for another company / hospital /science lab which accept interns from bio-medical. I would like to know:

1) Other than hospital, what other type of places or company accept bio-med student for internship?
2) Any recommended hospital or science labs for her to do internship? Prefer JB or Selangor area.
3) Can bio-med students do internsip in any hospital? Sime Darby med center etc? If yes, then I can try to find her a job which is not too far from her place.

My friend is not asking for a high salary but she really not willing to work for free. The hospital which offered her a intern is far from her place and not going to pay her. The main objective of this post is to know more internship options for bio-medical student so that I can write in to those company to help her ask for a intern job. Comments and suggestions will be real appreciated. Thanks.

24hours cafe in kl?

Hi guys, I am looking for a cafe in selangor area ( prefer Subang / damansara area) that opens 24hours with wifi. The reason I need this is because my house's internet is down, and I need to rush my assignment. So I hope I can have a place to sit down and concentrate on my assignment. I know klia has 24hrs Starbucks but that is too far from my place. Any suggestion will be appreciated. Btw, try to avoid mamak lol. Thanks.

problems after installing ICE?

I got a friend just done his ICE setup recently. There are one 4ch amp, mono block, 2xsmsc sub and a pair of component set. After installing the system, some serious problem start to show up. Firstly, the head unit (original) will lag sometimes, mostly happened when he try to shift gear especially reverse. Secondly, he found that the headlight will dim when he shift gear or reversing. And lastly, the steering wheel will become heavier during shift gear.
By him telling me that, I am guessing bad electrical system or bad grounding. But the car is less than half years old. Any sifu there experience these symptom before? What is the causes of these problems? Helps and comments will be appreciated! Thanks and have a nice day!

Mirrorless for nikon lens

Hi guys, here is my situation. I own a nikon d600 and plenty of nikon and tamron lens. My sister will be doing design courses in uni so she will need a mirrorless or dslr. If possible, she would like to have a mirrorless. But non of the nikon mirrorless suite my taste. I would like to ask, is there any mirrorless which able to use nikon lens autofocus and aperture? I really like the design and image quality of Fuji x-e1 but I don't think nikon lens autofocus will work on it. Or else, what is the recommended nikon mirrorless? Thanks.

Capacitor and Inductors

Im planning to make a passive crossover for my mid and tweeter. Did some research but there are some part that I dont understand. For example, to do a cutoff frequency at 4khz at 4ohm, I need a 0.22mh inductor and 6.8uf capacitor right? but when I try to google it up, the capacitor for 6.8uf (mundorf) has few different caps. They are devided into 250V, 450V, 600V, 1000V, 1200V. What are the difference between them? Why are the price so much different? Which 1 should I use? And for the inductor, mundorf m-coil cfc foils coil are devided into cfc16, cfc14, cfc12, cfc10, cfc7. And what are the difference between them? are more expensive coil or inductor produce better sound? and lastly, what other brand of caps and inductors are good and not too expensive for beginner like me? where can I get it in Malaysia? thx

I have done big 3 and bigger battery upgrade. Now thinking to add capacitors.

my current system:
alpine 9887
H701 DSP
Focal FP1.800 mono
Focal FP2.150 2ch amp
PhD 4060 4ch
Boston SL60 set (active)
midrange (buying soon, not yet decide which brand to use)
Focal 30A1 sub
my power cable to trunk is 4 gauge. Since Im not going for competition, 4 gauge should be enough for my usage.

for capacitors, I heard those cheaper one are from same manufacturer from china (streetwire, efx etc). So I narrow down my choices to 3 brands:

1) Helix
2) Mundorf
3) Rockford

Helix and mundorf are basically the same level for me. But for rockford, Im considering the RFC10HB, which is a 10farad hybrid cap. A lot of positive reviews on the rockford cap. But the main problem is, if I get the rockford, I wont be able to connect it to all amps within power cable of 45cm. And with the same budget, I can get 2 or 3 mundorf or helix 1farad cap.

So my question is,
-should I get 2 or 3 mundorf caps, place it right beside aech amps OR get 1 unit of rockford cap, hook up all amps to it?
-will a good quality cap improve sound quality? will I get cleaner sound when I play music loud?
-should I invest on a voltage stabilizer instead of caps?
-will the 10 farad help when Im not using it for SPL?

Im using alpine 9887 currently. thinking to add an DSP, with budget around 2k. I heard H701 is good but bit10 is some how a newer DSP. not sure which 1 is better. Im only running front active and a sub, will not upgrade to 3 way. with budget of 2k, i can get H701+controller or the bit10. do u guys have any experience with this 2 DSP? or any other processor around this price? thx
