Absolutely no setup required, unless if you put a password in your SIM card which could complicate things.”

Phone out of battery?
Embarking into Start-up / New Company

Once in a while a small company called you up and offered you a position. They promise stock options and a vision. Working environment is rather fun (or you can interpret it as stressful due to limited workforce high work volume), high potential to become rich (or you might ended up with nothing) and the freedom to wear slippers to work.

We know all company started somewhere, if not in a garage (some red fruit? I mean white..) perhaps at least with 3 to 4 peoples. They need people to grow their company, and you could be one of those first batch of warriors.

But is it worth taking the risk to quit current company that I am working in (a MNC) to join a startup?

A little background about myself, I am working in a MNC. My gut told me and still telling me that staying in this MNC means it will take more than 3 years to go to senior level (MNC always got lots of rules), perhaps another 3 years to a lead position (should the current lead left and granted no other seniors on my head or I overthrow all of them). Looking at such scenario I can basically tell is that half of my golden period of life will be spent in this company.. Shamefully, I tried to gosok kasut and perform like a heaven-sent employee, boss love me, but they just have to give the chance to senior due to seniority.

I have a little car that needs petroleum feeding and paying bank the money I used to own that car. My family doesn't depends on me though..

Also this MNC was like my third job, I have been involving in one startup company previously with friends that eventually failed due to lousy ideas. Thus starting as a fresh in this MNC.

There's a startup called and interviewed. The CEO told me convincing facts and ideas, offered a position. And the field is totally what I liked!

But I am at lost as to whether should I take this quantum leap or find a better MNC (is there any such companies) or stay. The problem at hand it seems is that "I wish I can know will this be successful and I would become a millionaire after that or else I am outta here" kinda doubt. And I know that if anyone would have known the answer, they would already be a millionaire, sorry..but it is a vital point to consider.

But the question I find really interesting to ask is that, what is your take on joining company that just started 6 to 8 months back while you have a good stable job in a company that never fails to pay you your salary (at least the chances of MNC to not able to pay you is much lower compared to a startup)? What do you think?

iWorry:
1) In 1 year time the startup don't work out. I quit it, and start fresh. Again. This scares me the most!
2) Salary will back to freshie, it will be harder to realize other need such as buying a house / getting settled down
3) When the funding stops, iNoSalary.
4) I fear that the enthusiasm the CEO has and the RDF he emits would cloud judgement and misinterpret the ideas that the CEO presented wrongly.

Generally not much people would join a startup? I guess? Please voice out your opinion. Thanks a lot!

ASP.NET and Outlook Calendar

Hi all pros, masters and anyone. I have a challenging question to ask..

Objective: To obtain heavenly stems and earthly branches from a date.

Method proposed: Connect to Microsoft Office Outlook 2003/2007 through ASP.NET and get those elements out from Outlook.

Question: How do I connect to Microsoft Office Outlook from my ASP.NET's codes? Is it possible? I have been searching around for APIs and connectors, mostly doesn't seems to work..in Microsoft Office Outlook, Chinese calendar can be enabled and they have all the stems and branches listed clearly. Such information of heavenly stems and earthly branches are used to calculate BaZi and et cetera which is what my project is about.

Is there any solution to this? Please help me!

I had found several python's open source code that is related to Chinese calendar, but another problem arise is that can I execute python from ASP.NET? Would there be any free connectors?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Edit: Problem solved. Thanks!
