[WTA] Faulty Amplifier?

Folks,

My ICE (front components, subwoofer) have been acting up recently. Subwoofer makes a popping sound when I turn the engine off and my front components just don't sound right, as if they are underpowered. Also my subwoofer does not "boom" the way it used to be able to (eg: Even on max bass level on my EQ, I barely get any sound pressure). I took this to the shop where I had my ICE installed and the owner insisted that my amplifier is faulty and I need to purchase a new one. As you can imagine I am not so keen on doing so due to budget constraints.

So my question is: How do you actually conclude that an amplifier is faulty? And is it impossible to fix amplifiers?

I can post details of my setup if required.

Hi guys,

I will be travelling to Ames, Iowa in the US to further my studies this coming January. My visa has just gotten approved and now I am looking for air tickets to the said destination. So far all the tickets are fairly pricey. The housing at my university only reopens on the 5th of January thus I would prefer to arrive on that time.

So my million dollar question:

What would be the best airline company/travel agent for me to book my flight? Mind giving me some recommendations? So far the cheapest I've found is from MSL, which is RM4.4k. However I will arrive on the 3rd and will have to find a temporary place to stay till the fifth.

Would really appreciate your help.

Hello everyone! I hope I have not created a topic in the wrong section (if I do, mods are more than welcome to notify me).

Alright, I am having this dilemma. I will be going to the US to pursue my Mech Engineering degree and I am prrretty sure I will need my own laptop.
My question is: Should I get a laptop here in Malaysia before flying off or wait until I touchdown in US ?

Please enlighten me regarding the price difference, if there is any warranty issues etc. Thanks!

Oh I forgot to mention I will be flying off in January. I heard that the Intel 4th generation processors will be released in January next year? Would that be worth waiting for?

Slow speed at night

Problem description: I get proper speeds in the afternoon, but when it reaches around 8PM till 9AM in the morning, I get snail-like speeds ( around 60-80kbps) . I checked on various speedtest.net servers and on P1 speedtest. Could it be my problem or screamyx? I'm waiting for the technician to come in today, but I want some professional opinions too.

I'm thinking of getting a new rig with the budget of 2.5k +/-. Plan to use it for gaming, and I just need the CPU. No monitors, no keyboard/mouse, no speaker etc, just the CPU. Planning to run Intel C2D E8500 with GeForce 9800GTX+, but I have doubts about everything else. Help is very appreciatted. Thanks.
