Need suggestions: Furniture, fittings and ID

Hi all, I've recently completed fixing and touching up my empty apartment, and it's finally time for furniture shopping

Given that I would NOT be engaging with an interior designer for this place, can someone here give a recommendation for the theme or furniture color combination that is suitable for a living room such as this?

My concern is that I want a furniture theme that is consistent and can match the grey marble floor.
Currently I am unable to find any similar references from home decor magazines.
I prefer a simple contemporary look, but most importantly i want to be careful not to mix/mash up the theme for the furniture when everything comes together :S

Here's a picture of the flooring for the bedrooms as well. Any suggestions you may have for a consistent look?

Am not really good in visualizing a complete set of furniture, hope you guys here are able to help!
Thanks and appreciate your feedback!

Update: I'm also interested in engaging an interior designer + contractor who will do basic fittings such as building a wall cabinet for the living room TV, wardrobe, etc. I'm based in PJ. Any suggestions or recommendations welcomed!

Cheers.

EPF Dividends for 2011 - Less than 6% nett?

Hi all, I just had a chance to scrutinize my EPF statement that just came in the mail.

I noticed a discrepancy between the Dividen Diisytihar 6.00% and the actual dividend figure I see declared (which ony came out to be around 4.96%) with respect to my Jumlah EPF for December 2011.

Can anyone here tell me why this is so?
I am thinking there is some sort of tax incurred on the dividends received from EPF, but it'll be great if someone can Provide an explanation. What do your statements show?

Thanks.

Hi all, I'm currently changing the switches and wall sockets around the house.
On that, I am also looking for a replacement for the following green/red starter switch for the aircons around the house (picture below).

What alternatives can I replace them with so I can match the new switches.
Will be using Clipsal Vivace series. Thanks.

Picture:

Cheers.

Need advice: Home theater with MacMini and PS3

Hi everyone, good day to you.
I've been looking around this thread and I'm really awed and overwhelmed by the passion everyone shows for their home theater set up, and was wondering if someone can assist for my situation.

I'm currently looking to get a good basic home theater system set up in the living room.
The main purposes would primarily be to watch HD movies, play PS3 games, listen to music, and watch Astro.

As I stay in a condo, the living room is just regular sized.

I'm planning to have a final set up that includes the following equipment:
- LED TV
- PS3 (Blu-Ray and dvd movies)
- Mac Mini
- Astro decoder
- [To source] Home theater system

With the PS3 in place, I do not intend to purchase a standalone Blu-Ray player as it would probably be redundant.

I understand the importance of having a good AV Receiver plus amp / woofer balance to get good strong surround sound from the home theater system.
However, I only have a budget of between RM1500-RM2000 (for the home theatre system alone), which doesnt leave me much to play around with.

Appreciate if the sifus around can offer some advice or some base suggestions for core equipment and connectivity that I would need.
Any feedback and insight provided would greatly help in my retail research.

Thanks and cheers!

Query: Gmail IMAP on Mail - Dont download all mail

Hi everyone, I did a search around and even googled but could not find a satisfactory answer.
Was wondering if anyone here could help shed some light on the matter.

I have just set up my Gmail account on the OSX Mail app (5.0) via the IMAP server.
All's working well, and it is able to sync all my mail to the Mac.

My problem is it started off by syncing ALL of my mail on the gmail server, nearly all 3GBs of it.
The question I would have is, if there's any option similar to the iPhone / iPad where it syncs the most recent X number of mail to the Mac, rather than all of it.

I have selected "Don't keep copies of any messages" for offline viewing, but this isnt what I need as it still downloads all the mail headers, from day #1 of my gmail career.

In short, is there any way for the Mail.app on OSX Lion to behave exactly like the Mail.app on the iOS (iPhone and iPad), which only syncs a portion of your most recent emails?

I understand the function may not even be there at all in the first place, but if someone could clarify it'd be great!
Thanks and cheers.
