Hello,

Any recommendations how to fix this? Or, it's just normal for 4k getting source from NJOI? Samsung upscaling issue?

Dad bought a Samsung 50KU6000 from BHB and this is his first 4K TV.

The installer also mentioned connecting TV power cord directly to wall outlet is better than using surge protector. Is this normal?

The shop doesn't want to send anyone over despite it was purchase 4 days ago on 20/1/2017. Can I contact Samsung directly?

[WTA] Myvi gear box oil leaking

Kindly seek your advice.

Dad's car, 95% street driving

2006 Myvi 1.3 Ezi, 57km.

has gear box oil leaking (about 1 tablespoon per day). Original owner; all services done at Perodua.

Perodua Service Center quoted replacement parts cost RM 1053, don't know about the labour cost yet.

2 of the highest priced items are (from hand written note, hopefully, no misspelling):
19311-97601 Crank Angel Sensor RM 306.40
35106-B1011 Oil Pan Piuko RM 175.70

What would you do if you are in my position?
1) repair as suggested by Service Center
2) replace by the "used/recond" gear box (if do-able)
3) trade in for Bezza or others (if this kind of repair won't last long)

Thanks in advance for any suggestion.

P.S. If I can wait, I would rather wait till 2017 Bezza because it's just my though that newly release model might have few glitches that can be rectified on the next year model.

Do you trust the built-in Earth-leakage circuit breaker (ELCB) of your water heater? Or you installed residual-current circuit breaker (RCCB) as an additional protection ?

The main use is for **news and drama series** from Astro. Not a home theater setup.

Looking at 48" Sony KDL48W650D or Samsung UA48J5200AK; both units are selling at RM1999!

I am not technology savvy, trying to look for guidance/experiences from fellow enthusiasts.

I understand these monitors are in different league with different technology. But, are the price difference justifiable?

Dell P2210 (22”) vs. Dell 2209WA (22”) vs Dell G2410 (24”)
TN vs. IPS vs. LED
RM629 vs. RM759 vs. RM839

I used Dell as reference only.

Do you have any good experience with monitor (> 21”) under RM800? Energy Saver features will be a plus.

It's mainly used for Qvod player (movies) and Skype (Internet phone/chat). It's going to paired with ASUS M4A785TD-M EVO (RM360) or GIGABYTE GA-MA785GM-US2H (RM350), with built-in graphic.

I know there are better monitors out there. But, for less than RM700, are they the best 23” monitors in the market? Have I overlooked any other model?

Thanks for all your help on my previous enquiry.

So, I have made up my mind and went to the store to purchase the following combo:
Intel E5300 (RM 250) + GIGABYTE G31M-ES2L (RM189) + SAPPHIRE HD4670 (RM 275) = RM714

But the shop didn't have Sapphire HD4670 in stock. I was question why I need to HD4670 in the first place. This rig is used for QQ, Qvod Player, Skype, web surfing and light on gaming; such as Age of Empires.

The analogy given by the shop is, “Why you need to buy highly rated tires (Z-rated) if you are only driving 20 km/h. You can’t even tell the difference”

Instead, the shop recommends the following:

ATHLON II X2 250 (RM260) + Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H (RM 330) = RM590

According to the shop, the advantage of this Gigabyte motherboard because it has ATI Radeon HD4200 build in graphics

In Malaysia, Vista Ultimate is selling around RM650. In US, it’s selling around RM450.

Does anyone know if I can buy in US and activate in Malaysia? Basically, I don’t even need to Vista Installation DVD; I just need the code for activation purposes. Plus, I will be getting the Windows 7 upgrade for free in Oct.

I am using this computer mainly for Qvod Player and web surfing; very light on gaming. If I may, I would like to contact it to Plasma TV so the HDMI output from computer is preferable.

I need your suggestion. My dilemma is:

Option 1
ASUS P5QPL-VM EPU with built in HDMI (RM300)

VS.

Option 2
GIGABYTE G31M-ES2L (RM189) + SAPPHIRE HD4670 (RM 275) = RM 464

Paired with E7500 and 23" SAMSUNG 2333SW.

Hello all,

What would you do? I try to assemble this computer for my dad whom has a less than perfect eyesight. That’s why I plan to buy a bigger monitor, Samsung 22” (2233SW). I understand both cards have only VGA output.

Ideally, the DVI output is my choice but it will increase the price if I choose the on-board video with DVI output.

My questions are:

1) Can you really tell a difference from DVI out vs VGA given the same setting?

2) Are there any motherboard that better suit my needs?

3) What is your choice? G41M-ES2L or G31M-ES2L?

From that forum, I can sense that Sony HTF 2300 is a very popular unit especially among PS3 gamers. But, HTF 2300 has wired rear speakers.

I am shopping for 40” TV and I need your help. It boils down to LCD vs. Plasma (Samsung vs. Panasonic)

Samsung 40” LCD LA40A550P1 – RM$3899

• Resolution: 1920 x 1080
• Dynamic Contrast Ratio: 30,000:1
• Power Consumption: 200W
• Warranty: 1 year

Panasonic 42” Plasma TH-42PV80H - $3699
• Resolution: 1,024 x 768
• Contrast Ratio: 15,000:1 (Native)
• Power Consumption: 335W
• Warranty: 5 years

IMHO, 5 years warranty from Panasonic and 2 extra inches are a big selling point but Samsung wins on all other features.

This TV is going to be paired with Pioneer HTZ272 which has 1080p output and Samsung LA40A550P1 seems to be a better fit (Resolution: 1920 x 1080)

I might have overlooked other manufacturers or model. Please feel free to share your opinion. Any thoughts and comments are greatly appreciated. Thank you.
