Maxis Free Upgrade Fibre Speed

Hi Hi ...

From previous reports on media, Maxis will provide free upgrades to existing users of above 100mbps starting 1-November-2023.

Has anyone received any upgrade for their existing fibre speed as of 1-Nov-2023.

Looks like nothing happened in November after the announcement of the free fibre upgrade in the media.

Small SME Factory Wireless Internet Setup

Dear Lowyat SifuS,

Any recommedation wireless Internet setup for small SME 2 floor factory with around 10 workforce.

Currently wifi signal at some area not good and also the fibre speed is at the lower range. Fibre speed cannot get 90% of out 300mbps subscribe speed.

I was thinking to completely change the whole Fibre setup from Router to Mesh WiFi in order to get at least 80% to 90% of the wireless WiFi speed.

Currently using Unifi Biz 300mbps with Unifi standard router and 2 Deco M5.

Any suggestion of the new setup like changing to AX5400 router and AX Mesh system Or should I get enterprise or commercial grade router?

Hi ... I have an Asus TUF F15 with Intel 11Gen chip with 8GB 3200mhz DDR4.

I plan to upgrade my ram. Will it be possible to add another different brand 16GB 3200mhz DDR4 ( 8GB + 16GB) any issue if I upgrade the following spec?

Laptop Cooling Pad - Good or Bad

Dear Lowyat Sifu,

I have mixed answer when I ask should I buy a laptop cooling pad for my gaming laptop. Some say it is bad as dust will accumulate faster inside your laptop & some say it will help to cool down you laptop temp if the GPU or CPU overheat.

Would like to know all sifu's opinions on this issue.

Asus TUF F15 Charging Issue

Dear Lowyat Sifu or any Asus TUF Owner's

I just bought an Asus TUF F15 laptop.

I have a question:

When I on my power adaptor my screen goes blank screen (Black Screen) for a few seconds and when I off my power adaptor it will also goes blank screen for a few second.

Is this normal for Asus Gaming Laptop. As I never encounter this issue with my Asus Vivobook when I on or off my power adaptor.

Dear Lowyat sifu,

I have this issue after upgrade to Windows 11 (windows auto update to from Windows 10 to 11).

When im typing im use to using the SHIFT key to CAPITAL a letter without pressing the caps lock key. But after upgrade to Windows 11 ... whenever i press the "Shift+C" it will auto launch the Xbox capture column.

I have try to search for shortcut keys or sticky key setting but I cannot locate "SHIFT+C".

Any sifu can help as currently very troublesome for me not able to use the SHIFT key as capital key for "C".

Receiving calls from UK (+44) & HongKong (+852)

Hello,

Recently I have been receiving daily calls from UK number prefix (+447xxxxx) and Hong Kong Prefix (+852xxxxx) on daily basis. This call usually will come in the evening from 6pm onwards to 11pm without failed daily. They will call you at least 2 to 3 times continuously before they stop calling.

I did not pick up any of the call as i suspect is a scam call or spam call and it is really annoying to receive the call daily.

I have blocked all these number that i receive but it doesn't help cuz it will use another set of new number to call in.

Just want to check did anybody recently receive overseas calls particularly from UK (+44) and HKG (+852) particularly from Maxis line and did you guys answer any of those calls?

Appreciate your feedback on the matter if you have encounter this issue.
