about password reset disk

recently i create a password reset disk, in case i forgot the password.
But did i need to recreate the disk every time i change my password, or this file able to reset no matter how many time i change the password in future?

xp user problem to use network shared app

i hv a winxp pc which use to running an app shared from a server, the app directly run from shared folder, it is an accounting software.
Lately a new server come in and replace it, I can access new server do anything else before login the old server except tun that app. But in order to run the app, i hv to login the old server then only the app in new server will run on my pc.

Other fren have no problem with that, but im the only one using xp

Application vs multi core procecssor

I had an 10 year old web base application, using MSSQL express installed into a server running with quad core CPU, 8GB ram. Better hardware but seem slower than old server with dual core CPU 4gb ram when going to process around 60k line of data retrieve from MSSQL do calculation then return into DB. Somebody said it is bcoz the application is not coded to run multi treading, the more core it have the processing will be slower.

Let say i didn't change the code yet, Here the question

1. if i need to run one single function which require 30min to done the process, did more core of CPU help to reduce the process time?
2. did that process run on 1 core or it will separated into 4 core n run parallel
3. i have to looking for CPU with more core or less core but higher frequency of clock rate?

So if i going to change the code, did PHP running with MSSQL express or MYSQL able to be program into multi treading?

The "Select COUNT(*) from course...." seem outcome
Select COUNT(*) from COURSE where SJID=MATH
which got error coz the SJID is nvarchar it should be use
Select COUNT(*) from COURSE where SJID='MATH'

i tried put SJID='@sjid' but it run it become SJID='@sjid' which is not using values of @sjid
using SJID=''''+@sjid+'''' also fail , this i had tried and success if i put whole query as string then EXEC it
but when it go to IF-Else , it cant read IF(EXEC(@string))<0

Ms office 07 outlook problem

I got a large pst file around 4GB and i wish to keep all those email and able to look back in outlook anytime, so i just add a new pst file and set that folder as default . Then i restart outlook, by right all new incoming mail will then get into the inbox inside the new folder, but it just keep move all the new email into old folder.

any step i setting wrong?
PC used win XP with ms office 2007.

Looking app help to keep ping an IP

Hi, i had setup an IPsec VPN using TP-link router, it got total 3 units of them locate at diff places. The problem now is it will suddenly disconnect. It happen quite frequent, i tried update firmware but not helping.

Restart the router may help solve the problem but not always work, sometime i need to restart router at both side. I still not sure weather ISP block the VPN or anything else.

I need a tools help me to ping the client side from HQ maybe few hour once, because i not sitting at the HQ all the time and the staff working at client side not going to notify me when the VPN tunnel is down. They just simply switch to remote desktop with public IP, this may cause some other problem like server processing increase or unable to print due to driver problem.

So with that tools at least i know VPN having problem an i can use teamviewer to reboot or do anything else once VPN is down.

centos 6.4 gui problem

Hi, i'm newbie for the linux, and i try to setup a samba server with centos 6.4. So i download it from mirror the official site provided, but it seem different with the tutorial that i search from web.

It got no GUI at all. Not only after install but during installation also. I had to configure it with the blue screen, and i cant even choose any 1 of the package to install because after i choose location to install the OS it just start immediately without any option. It boot into console mode after finish installation.

Searching solution from google cant get any useful info, most of them just telling me to key in "startx" in the console. But it is no such file. So i try another link to download again, same thing happen.

But the Livecd ISO is ok, however i cant find the server administrator thing even i follow the guide to yum install software required.

Livecd version is like minimal desktop package right, so can i start setup the server from there? How?

Transcend usb 3.0 card

Hi, anyone using the transcend PDU3 which come with USB 3.0 only?
It could boost up to 100++ few sec then maintain around 50++ mb/sec which is USB2.0 speed.

i bought this card together with the storejet 500GB USB 3.0, both are same brand so should not be hardware not compatible.

Driver is installed into Win7 32bits and device is OK.

Any advice for this problem?

How to Release Spam mail

we hv a photostat machine which can scan and send email to those who hv account in the machine.

1 day unknown problem cause all the outgoing email from photostat machine become spam mail within the company gmail.

i had report "not spam" from spam folder, but next day it go to spam folder again. thr are around 50 ppl using gmail, some of them get it in spam but some not.

nearly all of them using app to collect email, and those app will ignore spam folder. So what i done is set a content filter for the photostat machine as sender and will nv sent it to spam. most of app was success, but Incredimail still ignore it . i found when gmail receive mail from the photostat machine it will show a massage on top said that the email was not sent to spam because of content filter not allow. And at the end Incredimail will though it was spam also and ignore it.

So is either release the sender as spam or set incredimail download the Inbox mail even having msg said it was spam.

margin problem

i'm supporting someone, who is using kx p1121 for the invoice printing, i assume thr is custom margin used. well the model quite old ready and thy decide to buy a new 1 which is kx p1121e, the replacement model.

the problem is thy cant found the exactly driver for kxp1121e but only kxp1121 available at official site. So no choice i could only try it and test print, seem successfully. however when it come to their invoice system, because of margin problem part of the invoice unable to print out, thy hv called the system developer company to edit the margin, but the problem still remaining.

the only diff between kxp1121 and kxp1121e is the new 1 come with usb port, the rest design remain the same, so i think tht why thy not provide new driver for this device. same problem for pc win xp to win 7

so what can i do to fix this kind of problem. purchase another printer may be the last choice but at least make sure the printer come with latest driver to support even win 7.

PS: i was testing with LPT port for both printer so it not because of USB problem, both look same and using same driver even same port but what happen the margin diff? could it be possible edit configuration directly from printer itself?
The printer stay at store nearly 1 year before i handle IT for this company. i don think panasonic will provide new driver to solve this.

Crystal report design

Hi, i hv a rpt which require to generate report for 3 language, all data are same just the header is diff

i hv a sample with 2 header but it is using boolean to change header, i tried change the boolean to number but not working

it simply work like this in formula editor:

sample
{isselect} is boolean
header A -> section visibility-> {isselect}
header B -> section visibility -> NOT{isselect}

what i want is
{isselect} is number
header A -> section visibility-> {isselect}=0
header B-> section visibility-> {isselect}=1
header C-> section visibility-> {isselect}=2

PS: the [isselect] is pass from asp and it is integer all the while

vb.net 2003 crystal report with Ms SQL

how can i check what error data pass to crystal report? while i actually running store-procedure in SQL server to retrieve data and it had get the correct data, but no report come out at the end.

i'm using visual studio .net 2003 to design the report. the report was no problem last few year until some1 had change part of the data type, but i check those data was used at "inner join" but not pass to crystal report at the final result, so the data type will not affect those variable i define in crystal report

share Windows Update file in LAN

i'm using 360 to download update file now, but it require each pc to install 360 for share those files, how to set the windows auto-update link to that share folder?

still not fully trust 360 but tht feature really help a lot. ....for those "pasar malam" windows

Galaxy Mini change resolution

i don know is it very weird to say that, i just bought this phone few week, and yes i knew the resolution not very good.... but it cant be so bad until i cant even read the word....

it seem like we r using old style CRT tv as PC display device.....the word not even small but the edge of word is blur

any idea how to change the resolution, or at least make the word look better........

printer sharing in 2 LAN

export contact from gmail with company named

people who had register gmail@theirName , any idea how to export the contact list from client side? i want to move contact list from web into outlook. i cant contact email admin.

i had search some help from web, but what the problem i face now is there was no contact save in "my contact". it seem like the "my contact" only store personal email address but not all email under same company name.

However when i compose mail , mailing address will appear all email list with keyword input.
