Street Photographer Beaten Bloody for Taking Photo

Photographer Math Roberts experienced every street photographer's worst nightmare during the Notting Hill Carnival. As first reported by The Phoblographer, Roberts was attacked, beaten bloody, and had his camera smashed to bits for taking a photograph of a couple hugging on the last night of the event. The incident took place on August 26th around 10:30pm. While walking Moscow Road, Roberts spotted a couple hugging and decided to take a photograph of the candid moment. “It happened about 500 yards from the hotel I was staying in,” Math tells The Phoblographer. “I took a photo of a couple embracing each other on some doorsteps. Naturally, as a street photographer wanting to capture the moment undisturbed, I didn't ask their permission.”However, the couple noticed him and, when the woman asked unhappily if he had taken their picture, the man with her became “pretty violent immediately.”

“He punched me a few times until he knocked me to the floor and then grabbed my camera and smashed it on the floor (this was the most painful bit!),” recalls Math. “I apologized several times and offered to delete the photo, which I always do if someone is unhappy. But that didn't really help at all on this occasion.”Roberts was left bloody, his camera in pieces by his side: Roberts tells The Phoblographer that he did not report the incident. Since his camera was insured, and he didn't want to go through the hassle of explaining the incident (or re-living it), he “just headed back to the hotel and had a beer.” But Roberts’ experience highlights the potential danger of candid street photography in this day and age. In maybe 99% of situations, a simple apology and explanation will diffuse the situation; but this does not work 100% of the time, and you should be aware of this fact any time you consider taking a street photograph of a candid moment without permission. It's a totally understandable thing to do, but has led to death threats and online witch hunts in the past. Maybe subconsciously I am a little more wary about what I'm shooting, but I'm sure that will wear off soon.”

SOS

Street photographers - Don't simply take photos of anyone without asking for permission...

Sijil Halal tulisan Mandarin & Tamil

– MalaysiaGazette

Beware router in airbnb host apartment you rent.

Woman rented flat from Airbnb host later found out spycam on the router facing bed.
Types of spycam :- clothes hanger, water pipe, screw, 3 pin plug, eyes of portrait painting hanging on wall - now even on router.
Note : Normally we don't care about the router's blinking lights as we thought it's only an indicator but next time do inspect every light as one of it might be SPYCAM camera else your on bed movie with wifey/gf will be on sale!

A man in eastern China who placed a hidden camera in a bedroom he rented out on home-sharing platform Airbnb was exposed when he hosted a woman who recognised the equipment. Her expertise enabled her to find the camera and call the police, who gave the man 20 days’ detention. He was listed on the platform as a “Superhost” – an experienced host regarded as a shining example – but police found that he had been filming his guests since March. The woman, referred to by her online alias Yunfei, told Beijing Youth Daily she worked in Internet and information security, and always checked her hotel rooms. She said that when she arrived at the man’s flat in Qingdao in Shandong province last Wednesday night, she soon spotted something unusual.

“I found a motion sensor monitor at the flat’s entrance and two in the two bedrooms, which is odd since the flat had not been renovated for smart-home automation,” she said. “I turned the sensors to face the wall and covered them with stickers.” She proceeded to check the smoke detectors and television, which are often used to place hidden cameras, and cut the power supply to the television. When she picked up the router, which faced a bed, she found a light that looked unusual and suspected it was a hidden camera. “I checked it carefully and found the line arrangement was different from the usual ones,” she said. By comparing the router with a picture of the product, she realised it had been altered, before unscrewing it and finding a digital memory card inside. “I immediately called the police after finding the card,” she said. “They came and took away the equipment.”

SOS

Borrowed money to celebrate Hari Raya

JOHOR BARU: A driver, who borrowed money from loan sharks to celebrate Hari Raya four years ago, is now struggling to repay his loans which have snowballed to 10 times the original amount. The 33-year-old claimed that five loan sharks were harassing him and his family “every other day”, demanding payments through verbal and phone threats. The man, who wanted to be known as Harun, said he only earned RM3,000 and each month, half of his salary was used to repay the interests.

“With the fasting month and Hari Raya coming, I do not know how I am going to manage,” he said at a press conference organised by Johor Baru MCA public complaints bureau chief Michael Tay. Harun said a friend had introduced him to a loan shark in Ulu Tiram back in 2015 after his loan applications with several banks were rejected.

“The loan shark told me that I had to repay RM600 per month. He also kept my ATM card to withdraw the repayment amount plus interest before giving me the balance every month. “However, I could not cope as I had to support my wife and three children, aged five, 12 and 13,” he said, adding that he then resorted to taking more loans from four other loan sharks.

The amount he borrowed was between RM2,500 and RM3,000 each. Harun said he regretted going to the loan sharks as they had started harassing him and his elderly parents in Mersing for payments. “I have lodged two police reports on the threats and harassment,” he said, adding that his parents >and siblings could not help as they, too, were barely making ends meet.

Tay said he would try to talk to the loan sharks to stop harassing Harun and negotiate for him to just pay back the principal amount. Tay added that the number of loan shark cases handled by him for the first four months of this year had doubled compared to last year. “Most of them involved those who needed between RM3,000 and RM5,000, as commercial banks had rejected their applications for short-term cash. “I hope Bank Negara or the government can find a way to help these people to get a small loan with minimal interest,” he said.

SOS

Presume the story goes like this :

Wife : Bang raya dah dekat ni, tahun kita tukar perabut, langsir, sofa, tv ya bang... ada lagi baju raya anak kita ni dah 2 tahun tak beli.
Husband : Kau bukan tak tau gaji ciput abang hanya cukup bayar belanja sekolah anak2, sewa rumah, bayar bil, ini itu pun dah habis manalah abang ada duit beli perabut baru, tv baru?
Wife : Ishh abang ini nyampah tau, setiap kali bila ungkit tukar perabut mesti cakap tak da duit, malulah bang, bang tengok si Bedah jiran kita tu setiap tahun dia tukar langsir, tukar perabut, baru-baru ni siap tukar TV 55 inci lagi, kita pulak abang tengok perabut dah 8 tahun, tv dah 12 tahun jenis kotak pulak tu sekarang ni mana ada orang pakai tv kotak lagi bang oi dah boleh masuk muzium. Farah segan lah bang setiap kali si Bedah kunjung kat rumah kita tengok sama jer tak da perubahan.
Husband : Kau tak reti bahasa ker kan abang dah cakap tak da duit tak duit lah, kau nak abang pergi rompak bank atau ragut ker!!??
Wife : Apa kata abang pergi buat personal loan atau pinjam kat member-member dulu, bang pergi besok ya?
Husband : Mengapa nak buat pl sebab nak jaga air muka biarlah jiran kita beli apa pun kau ingat pinjam tak yah bayar balik ker????
Wife : Saya tak peduli raya ni saya nak tukar perabut, langsir, baju dan tv jugak kau ikhtiarkan macam mana, kalau tidak siap kau malam tidur kat ruang tamu kau jangan ingat nak makan kuih donat aku.

So the huband has no choice after blackmailed by wife and he went to apply personal loan but unfortunately were rejected by few banks lastly borrowed from loan sharks.
World tour biker brakes stolen in Penang

Sylvain Ratichon Ract is a man on a mission. He wants to journey across Southeast Asia all on his motorbike, all while documenting his journey along the way. The Frenchman who recently visited locations including the National Park of Khao Yai, Rayong, Pattaya, Bangkok, and many others finally made his way to Penang, Malaysia to begin his Malaysian leg of the journey. Despite having almost no troubles on his journey across other Southeast Asian nations, his luck ran out in Malaysia, when his motorcycle brake callipers and pads were stolen.

Sylvain's troubles went viral as he attempted to source parts for his Yamaha XT660Z Tenere – which is very hard to find. Sylvain writes in his facebook, “Hi guys, (its) me again! My brakes were stolen in Penang, Malaysia (yes, my brake callipers an pads) so I'm stuck here.” “I've called all Yamaha and big bikes shops around, no parts (are) available new from Malaysia, Thailand nor Singapore.”“I called in Australia and was quoted AU$1,500 for new callipers and pads (without shipping).” “Has anyone in Asia/Australia a spare set of front callipers and pads for sale? It would help me a lot! Cheers!”Still brimming with positivity, not a word of condemnation was written by the Frenchman, even after such dire circumstances had befallen him on his journey.

One netizen writes, “On behalf of all Malaysians, I sincerely apologize for what you have to go through and hope that the culprit will receive their just deserts.”
“Congratulations thief, for putting Penang and Malaysia in the spotlight.”

Following Sylvain's journey on his 1 Moto 1 Planete Facebook page, he has yet to update what happened to him at this time of writing. We are with the sincere hope that Sylvain will be able to source for the parts that he needs to continue his tour. As for the thief, thank you for showcasing the best of Malaysia to our guests, and we sincerely hope that your 'noble' conduct will be repaid in tenfold soon.

SOS

[attachmentid=10216481]

Stateless girl couldn't sit for SPM

Rachel, who dreams of becoming a pianist and to travel beyond Sarawak, cannot even lead a normal life because she is stateless

In 1999, a few days after she was born in Sibu, Peter Sia Chew Ong and Lau Kui Fua adopted her, becoming her legal parents. However, Rachel remains stateless as her application for a citizenship to the Malaysian Government has repeatedly been rejected, denying her a Malaysian identity card. According to Rachel's adoptive parents, they had previously sent in four applications to the National Registration Department (NRD), officially known as the Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara (JPN) for Rachel's citizenship, with the most recent being in 2017.

While Rachel has a birth certificate, it does not state the names of her biological parents. Dayak Daily reported that there is no trace of her biological parents, as her birth certificate was taken away and cancelled by JPN when Rachel was 12. At that time, she had tried to apply for her MyKad so that she could sit for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM). However, while Rachel was issued a new birth certificate bearing her adoptive or legal parents' details, she could not sit for her SPM.

Since then, the family has been trying to apply to JPN for Rachel's citizenship. According to Dayak Daily, the department asked the family to wait, but it has been nine years and Rachel's parents see no resolution to their appeal. Rachel’s mother also said that they are currently appealing to the state and the federal governments to expedite the process of approving Rachel’s citizenship.

SOS

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Another stateless girl but allowed to sit for SPM/STPM
SOS

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Malaysia's education laws really confusing kejap boleh kejap tak boleh.

Woman admitted to hospital after giving bj

A woman had an allergic reaction during sex and it may have been from her partner's semen

A woman had a severe and potentially life-threatening allergic reaction after giving oral sex, and it could have had something to do with the contents of her partner's semen, according to a new report in the journal BMJ Case Reports.

The authors wrote that a 31-year-old woman from Spain came to the emergency room while experiencing trouble breathing, vomiting, and with full-body hives. These symptoms were in line with anaphylactic shock, a severe allergic reaction that causes the airways to narrow and, if left untreated, can be fatal, according to the Mayo Clinic.

She started showing the symptoms after ingesting her partner's semen during oral sex, according to the report.

The woman said she didn't eat foods or take medications that could have caused the allergic reaction, but upon further investigation, doctors found that she may have reacted to antibiotics her partner had been taking to treat an ear infection.

The woman has a penicillin allergy, and her partner had been taking amoxicillin, an antibiotic in the penicillin family. Although doctors have not concluded that this was the cause of her reaction, they believe there may have been traces of antibiotics in his semen.
